btw

it looked like it was behind the recv and tipped up into the air then dropped but I was a long ways away, just what my son said

I know he was running around a lot yesterday but he should have seen that was a strip.  :)

snoop dawg

That was a heads up defensive play! Definetly a strip.

menlodaddio13

He must have been too busy with Taylor, I wish we could have frozen the the first frame for sec or at least long enough for "possesion" Would have made the game a little more fun

If the Wildcats had consistency at QB I'd breathe a little easier for Sat game against the Rats....but no...we have to make it exciting for everyone and put in our 3 string QB...and of course we won't know for sure who exactly is starting this Sat until later in the week....Is somebody writing a screenplay for all of this?  If Bixenman gets hurt...who's next?  BTW, I still have 4 years eligibility...but won't be waiting for a call.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

BTW, I just noticed on our roster's bio that we have three freshman QB's with very interesting HS numbers...I know we don't want to got there...but what if.....I'd like to hear Wildcat11's take on which of those three would probably be called on to step up.

Regarding yesterday's game between the Pirates and the Bearcats, I can't really disagree with anything 509 Rat or pineconefan said.  Willamette isn't the most talented team in the conference, especially offensively.  But remember that we're playing with a backup QB and we lost our starting tailback just last week.  The offense is very much a work in progress, but I would say that this was probably our most complete offensive performance yet.

As for Whitworth, I was impressed with their QB, who I think will get better as the season goes on.  Like I told a friend, I'm glad we played Whitworth now instead of later in the season.  Adam Anderson is a one man wrecking crew.

Stat of the game: between the 11:30 mark in the second quarter (Rats second TD) and the 1:26 mark in the fourth (beginning of the Rats' final drive), Willamette outscored Whitworth 32-3.

What, you don't like having a new starting QB every week????  One thing that hasn't been discussed much is how penalties hurt the Cats this past weekend.    At least twice we were put in bad positions by penalties which either killed drives or forced us into FG try instead of a possible TD drive.  I think we had fewer penalties this week but they seemed costly nonetheless.  (Menlo had some penalties that hurt them as well).  And of course, tunnovers--the INTs sucked but given the QB being #3 and first start I guess we'll just be glad they didn't lead to any Menlo points.  Only one fumble this week but of course we lost it.....oh, and it was in the red zone.....but a win is a win.  Looking forward to the game this week...  ;D
Go Cats!

Now that's real information.....Linfield is "six deep" in QB's.  I agree with 11's comments, I think QB#3 did a respectable job considering he had no idea that he'd even get a chance to play this season last week.  I suspect he will be much better next week after having a full game under his belt and the 'shock and awe' is now over.

We will get up on UPS next week and Ill feel better, they dont like to travel to Cally 8)  I think we can handle there QB to some extent at least enough to win, maybe not as big as last year, but definately a win so watch your pick 'em..

I think the Loggers and Oaks will match up well next week down in California.  As for the Loggers not liking traveling to Cally, they did a fine job traveling to Pomona to open the season!!!

Unfortunately I won't get to see the game in person.  Does Menlo have a broadcast or live stats or anything?

Wildcat'64

d3 Top 25 is out.  Bear Kitties - 21, Wildcats - 33, Johnnies -34.........I bet our Johnnie friends are not very happy being behind the Cats!

menlodaddio13

no broadcast this year yet, just emailed ath dept to see if they plan to hook it up internet live like last year
It just seemed they were out of sort last year, maybe it was because it was the last game of the year and they sure are a different look with Kavin back.  Coach Dave will be looking for revenge as I gave him a pretty hard time with his family in the parking lot after last years finalle.  Being from Seattle, we have soft spot for the Loggers and spent alot of time on campus for the last few years...still Oaks will play well next week so W better have them ready

Another 1100 miles on the camry. What a weekend. Great game, I agree with most everybodys inputs of the game. Weather was great. Glad I could bring the NorCal sun shine. And we did have costly penalties on yard gaining plays. There was times it took away firstdowns. Tail gate party was good. Few to many Bloodymary's. Had a good dinner with both my Sons. The older one that is in the Air Force drove down for the game. Also enjoyed Franklins company at dinner (good kid) Hope he is ready for next week. Talk to you all later.

Go Wildcats

On the play that Widcat11 took to slow mo....wasn't that the second chance? The guy had it then it pooped out high and then it was stripped. I thought it was a TD but the Menlo guy didn't get it on the second chance. He should have held on on the first chance but didn't.

I'm thinking it's a pretty even game between Menlo and UPS next week....the whole pick'em thing....I'm going to be screwed!

Top 25....tons of teams with good records but couldn't get past West First Round!

bluenote

...our defense is only allowing 258 yards per game... that's pretty good, ain't it!
