Doesn't look like the Liberty League is on board with this thing yet.

Retiredrat,

I'm at least part Irish too. I like ND, but you have to watch out for those subway alumni.  There's more of them then there are of us.  If too many get wind of the vote, it may be trouble.

I think Reggie Bush gets the Heisman, but it would be nice if the d3 fans help take the popular vote.

Reminds me of the time at McDonalds when a gal ordered a
Big Mac and fries super sized with a diet coke.

I do this all the time. There's enough calories in the food. Why should I take on another 300 for the soda?

A SJU follower but just voted 3 times for BE and have 2 more email addresses to use.

Glad to help out -

Thanks.

Keep it up. We're picking up votes fast. Only 1799 behind #6 Reggie Bush.  Sound like a lot? check the count tomorrow night.

Perhaps Darrel & Dave could mention a few times during the
game to VOTE FOR BRETT and give the email address www.voteforheisman.com (since there are probably a lot of listeners who don't visit this site).  Might save Eve a little time rather than having to look up all those D1 scores and give D&D something to talk about as the Cats score another TD by the air!

repete.......you saw that tooooo.... sending a case of" wine"  to go with the cheese.   :o

I used a few email addresses to place some votes for Elliott. But, we've got our own wine, how about sending some of those hazelnut products from Evergeen Orchards instead?

NCAA D3 Mens Indoor Track & Field Championships... 1987, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009

So here's what I found out -- which makes it all the more aggravating for the folks who won't vote for BE because he's d3.

``Each Section within the United States has 145 media votes, totaling 870 media votes across the country. Additionally every former Heisman winner, 52 presently, has a vote as well. In 1999, The Heisman Trophy agreed to develop a special program to allow the public at large to become part of the balloting process by permitting one (1) fan vote eligible in the overall tabulation. This program continues in 2005, bringing the total number of voters for the 2005 Heisman race to 923.''

And the public vote:

``The top three vote getters will receive the equivalent of one first, second or third place vote in the official balloting''

I mean, sure, we all (or most of us, at least) realize that this groundswell of support isn't going to push BE past Reggie Bush -- when all the media and former Heisman winners' votes are counted. But  to hear the whines that this is perverting the process is a little silly.

If this succeeds, BE will get one of 923 votes for either first, second or third. The Wisc. ``purists'' should know this won't topple the world order, it'll make a few folks think and shed some positive light on ``our'' game.

I went ahead and e-mail the whole Bethel team of over a 100 guys about voting for BE.  Also, someone might want to consider trying to e-mail the SID's from D3 schools about this.

Pat Coleman

Perhaps, though some might co-opt the concept for their own player and dilute the effect.

BREAKING NEWS:  Elliot surpases 1,000 votes on the first day of voting thanks to the coast to coast support of D3 football.  1,677 more votes and Elliot can move into 6th place.....lets keep those votes coming in and show the nation that we can turn out our votes for a candidate.

Thanks again Pat for your support!

Why would we want to doubt?  Doubt is a thought that creates the very thing you are doubting. Who would want that?  If you put your attention on what you want aren't you more likely to get it?  If you put your attention on the doubt aren't you more likely to get that? Let's focus on what we want here and see what happens and forget the doubt.

One of the Daily Dose comments was from a guy who said he was going to mention the voting to his students. Cawcdad said the same thing. We've got quite a few educators in the various conferences, it seems, and if they ask their students to vote for Brett, that should jack up the numbers, too. Heck, teachers don't get paid much, so we've got to take those little bennies where we can get them.

Camcat,

I'm a strategy guy.  I'm looking at where the competition might be down the road.  If you are aware of them, you can beat them.
