You know what would be great...if someone at ESPN caught wind of this grass roots effort to get our boy a couple of votes.  Isn't there a Linfield alum that is a suit at ESPN...for some reason I thought I remembered that there was.

If not, perhaps someone with some clout, Pat?, could put a bug in someones ear and perhaps pick up a little more publicity.  Could be their feel good story on College Gameday?

Just wanted to pass along this piece of information....

The Linfield S.I.D. department has received their Gagliardi Award information nominee package.  Needless to say Linfield will be putting up one of the players of the great award.

Elliiot seems to be closing the gap with Bush for th #6 slot in the Heisman Fan Poll......difference is now only 1,311 votes and Elliot is now approaching 1,600 votes total.  Let's keep the votes rolling in from D3 supporters and we may be able to take over the #6 slot!

Here's an interesting description of playing against Elliott from
Eagle Cynic on the WIAC board.  (That's UW LaX from last year's playoffs.)

"Brett Elliot is unbelievable.  I played in that game and saw all of those TD passes from pretty close.  Of course it helped out that he didn't have an ounce of pressure on him the whole day, had 4 excellent receivers, and a solid running game.  Oh yeah and our offense couldn't move the ball for more than three plays at a crack.  But...he put the ball in places that were untouchable by a defender.  He showed me plenty of examples of the perfect throw.  Keep in mind the secondary and linebackers we had...2 of the LBs had NFL tryouts, two proven senior DBs and Two young ones who are absolutely the best in the league...Teeples and Halverson.  Nobody could do a thing to stop this guy.  Not only that but the mastermind Barry Schockmel put together the gameplan and he was the premier DB coach in D3 for the past 30 years.
Elliott's the real deal.  Not Heisman worthy but it's good to see his name in consideration...60+TD's last year and probably as many this year!  Unheard of!"

I'm friends with Neil Everett's uncle out here in Portland.  Neil's one of the regulars on SportsCenter and has some Oregon roots.  I'll see if I can plant a seed.

coco, I'm with you, I don't see how any conference will get three teams in the playoffs, even if they all have 1 or fewer losses (even if it's team A beating B who beat C who beat A). There are too many other good bubble teams across the country and one conference is not going to eat up three spots, not to mention they can only put a total of 8 in each region. I would think that is when they start looking at Quality of Wins, point differential, etc. to determine which of the three is left out. I would think it would take an extremely special circumstance for three teams in one conference to make the playoffs.

Love those Heisman Fan Poll Results:
Their computer went down, so until it is fixed they started the tallies over again.  Elliot has now jumped to 4th place of the votes cast since the computer crash and is trailing 3rd place by just 4 votes.
I'm sure they'll get it fixed and BE will still be in 7th place but gaining by the hour on #6.....it's been a good day as Elliot's numbers have continued to grow by the hour....those D3 voters are turning out in big numbers.  Keep up the work folks!

I just re-registered my original email address and successfully voted for Brett within the 7 day limit from my original voting on Sunday night.

The site promptly acknowledged my registration and I returned the email to confirm the vote.

I just voted again  my vote was confirmed. Brett has jumped into 3rd place and has had a lot of activity in the last hour.  Hope it's not too late for all you Elliot supporters to get to your computers and get another vote in for BE.....go D3 Football!!

Good job, Pat...thanks for keeping everyone focused....I think all of D3 is having fun with this and it will be a good thing for every program in the country.
