Only 10 votes out of 2nd place now.  Looks like they just got folks out of Northwestern out of bed to get some votes in for their candidate.  UCLA is obviously still up and running their "get out the vote" system! :)
LEAVE NO DOUBT

With the regular season winding down, it seems ALL of the NWC teams have a lot to play for the rest of this year:

Linfield: Ahhhh, pretty obvious. It's interesting to note they could become only the 3rd team ever to win back to back Stagg Bowls (along with Augustana in the 80's and Mt. Union)

Whitworth: their playoffs started after the loss to Linfield. They win out and most believe they are in. A tough game against Willamette is approaching, who they have lost to by double digits the last two seasons. The Pirates need to get past the Bearcats this time (along with the Lutes) in order to make it to the dance.

Willamette: as bad as their season started, they still haven't lost an in-region game. If they could pull off the massive task of beating PLU, Whitworth, and Linfield their season would continue. I know, almost impossible. But my point is they are still technically alive.

PLU: if the Lutes defeat Willamette, things get really interesting. They would be favored against Menlo and then would have Whitworth at home to try and preserve their winning streak. The last game of the season could come down to PLU keeping their streak alive vs. Whitworth getting into the playoffs. That would be a huge game for all of D3.

UPS: good decision in scheduling Western Oregon after L&C dropped out. The Loggers still have a lot to play for this year. A likely win over Colorade College and they then have a chance to put together their second straight winning season with a win over WOU, which would be nice for a program that is trying to continue to improve.

Lewis and Clark: well, I promise you the Pioneers will not lose another game this season!
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I voted for BE for Heisman, even though I watched Reggie in person this year. ;D

Safe travels to all who are going to games this weekend. The weather in Atherton, CA promises to be much nicer than most other places.

The 'cats will have the beatdown train rolling this weekend, prompting me to probably listen to some of the Olaf/Johnnies game. I will be on the boards for the games.

Linfield 63
Menlo 6
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

I tried to re-vote, but it said that my vote was already counted. I noticed that Elliott's vote total had gone down...the fix is in.

Say hello to the twins and Las Vegas for me! My parents are currently on their way to the game in Atherton, so I will pass along some live updates from the stadium.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Ditto...three votes from email addresses earlier today were accepted again tonight.

Hey, late night west coast D3 readers, get on there and vote for Elliott, he's only 14 votes out of 2nd place right now. Build the lead while we can!
Where did you get your info? The leader board I took off 2005 Voteforheisman shows BE with less votes than last night.

I tried to cast my vote for Coco, but he wasn't on the ballot.  With that limiting my choices, I decided to vote for the second best Linfield player I'd ever heard of.  Mr. Elliott got the vote on my computer, but Coco got the vote in my heart. :D

Just a note of warning: how many Comcast users caught the notce on the bottom of the ballot: "Also, please do not use Comcast addresses as they will not going through."  I tried voting Wednesday and received no e-mail validation.  Now I know why!

I e-mailed the Heisman address seeking a work-around, and will copy their response (IF I GET ONE!)  In the meantime, if you use Comcast for your ISP, you should registering other e-mail accounts.

GO CATS!  GO BE!
