I'm really enjoying the fact that all the NWC talk (trash or otherwise) has moved to the SCIAC board.  Hopefully we can take over the WIAC or MIAC boards next.

GO BEARCATS!

Thanks, BuckeyeFvr.  You guys have some tremendous fans.  The trip to Moorhead should be a fun one next year!

'Cause I'm bored I'm trying to play along with the pick 'ems....

Brockport State? St. John Fisher?

Something is rotten in Denmark.

...how many teams in the playoffs are any good...maybe like 20? The rest got left out?.....

With only one team in the playoffs I would think the position is harder to maintain but you NWC'ers can puff your chest out at least through tonight at the Playoff History (link on front page, bottom right - no. I'm not going to link it for you, I'm supposed to be doing other work).

Others might say that it's easier to maintain the percentage PLU and LINFIELD (OK WU one game evened out by a loss) built up by having only one team in the playoffs but HEY! Brockport State?!!!!

Editors note; The now famous Hartwick - Brockport State game is NOT an NCAA playoff game.
It seems there is some lame sanctioned 'bowlgame' after the season has ended.

...well I guess if you go 9-1 or 10-0 your pretty good!

There's no question the Bearcats have had a great season.  So has OXY, so now we find out how good each is.  IMHO the best, most entertaining, and most heart-stopping game of the '97 season was the WOU playoff which WU won with a field goal at the end (was it overtime?).  This one might be as close.

Bearcat Press:  Actually, I do know Willamette's fight song, having played it many times back when the University Band marched at home games.  The times have changed since music majors could be required to participate in those types of activities.  In high school, yes.  In college, no.

For those who don't know, Willamette's fight song "Fight Bearcats" is original to Willamette.  It was composed for Freshman Glee, by students, and arranged for band by M.W. Brennan, Director of Bands at Willamette for many years.  The counter melody on baritone and trombone is brilliant.  (Snarky comment:  There's another well-known fight song which is used by lots of high schools and some colleges  ;) but they can't count it as their own.  My wife and I can both sing it substituting our high schools' names for the title name).

According to my handy-dandy Willamette Media Guide, the '97 playoff with WOU was an overtime game.

I'm a huge fan of our fight song; I just wish more people knew it!  And I wish we had a band.

Bring back the Band......
Bluenote and I played for pizza during the 70's
And the Cats just brought back the band last year.

I believe it adds to the  whole game day experience. IMO

Big day for the Bearcats, do the NWC proud.

At the game...I'll be the one with the Linfield shirt, hat, Coat, socks and.....
opps,  : that's enough.
GO WILDCATS
&
Bearcats in the playoffs 2008.........
That was painful!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Which one, Tuxguy?  I hear there'll be a special purple & red section at the game.

Go Bearcats-- make us prouder!
