It is against the rules for any school to trade video of a playoff team after the selections have been announced. But surely Willamette would have asked before the playoffs started.

A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss,

To just add to that the NWC rules is that teams trade their 3 most recent contests so Willamette didn't get the UWW/UPS game before WU played the Loggers.  (The conference teams are required to shoot side and end zone views)

But like Pat said.....after the WU/Logger game that is another story on if the Loggers were asked to pass that Whitewater DVD along before the pairings were announced.

Correct...

I've heard that Speckman had film of St. Johns (Concordia), OXY (Menlo), Redlands (Whitworth), and Whitewater (UPS).  Looks like the only team he may have missed was Hardin Simmons (Linfield), but he won't need that tape now.

The NWC coaches seem pretty good about helping one another out come playoff time.  I know Smith fought for Whitworth last year during the regional rankings selection and i can't imagine Linfield not giving up film of past HSU games to the Pirates who open @HSU week 1 next year.

Go BEARCATS!  After UWW its smooth sailing to Salem...

Except WU hasn't had a great track record against Mary Hardin Baylor.  But if we get that far that's a good problem to have to worry about...

Have fun on the road trip.   ::)  Nothing like flying 1/2 way across the country then drive another 3 - 3 1/2 hours to the middle of West Texas.  I'm sure Feaster and company will greet the Rats with welcoming hugs and pleasantries.

Nothing against HSU but I wouldn't shed a tear if I didn't have to do the DFW to Abilene to DFW drive ever again.

I concur. Nothing like driving in a west Texas rainstorm on your way to DFW airport. I have to admit the Texas BBQ was out of this world and the tailgaters in the parking lot of HSU were very accomodating. For those of you going to make the trip from Spokane make sure you eat at  Perini Ranch Steak House in Buffalo Gap just outside of Abilene. You can find all the info you need on the internet. For a great BBQ lunch go to Harold`s Pit Bar-B-Q, 1305 Walnut Street Abilene, Texas 79601-3649 ph: 915.672.4451.

You can fly directly into Abilene or there's another airport near there.   (We have relatives in that part of Texas.)  It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there!  You're right about the drive from Dallas to Abilene -- long, ugly & boring.

Long and ugly maybe, but how could it be boring?  All you need is a good mix of Jerry Jeff Walker, Guy Clark, David Alan Coe, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Little Willies, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Reckless Kelly, the Old 97's, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Roger Miller . . .

not boring . . .  8)

WC11, Thanks for the additional info. I wasn't aware it was the 3 most recent games (thought it was 2 for some reason) and that conference teams had to shoot from both of those angles.

I am going to assume that is because Concordia had to send them tapes of previous games before Willamette played them this year and one of those games happened to be against St. Johns? I know it's a rivalry in MIAC country, but I can't imagine Concordia sending Willamette tape of the Johnnies just to be nice and to help them out in the playoffs should they play SJU.

I must have missed the memo on the Whitworth/HSU game to open the season next year because that's the first I've heard of it. So HSU will be playing two NWC teams next year.....interesting.

What?!  You mean no disneyland-like attraction in Abilene?  Guess the boys will have to wait a week for the fun stuff when they travel to La Verne.  Abilene can't be as bad as Amarillo can it? That place made me darn near suicidal.

And I don't expect anything else from the boys from Texas.  I really wish HSU was older, looks like they are going to return a good number of guys.  Oh well, if Linfield can play them down to the wire every year then I'm not too worried.

Ha!  I doubt that HSU will be as liberal as Linfield has been with the TO when faced off with the Rats.  Just be thankful that Carrillo is gone...that guy has killed us the past three years.

Looking forward to shutting down the 2x offensive MVP up at the Pine Bowl....again

I guess the "kinder, gentler" slogan applies to players as well...they've been in the giving mood for the last three years   :D

How 'bout instead of shutting down Anderson you make it a goal to get a win at the Pine Bowl...something that hasn't happened in 4 years  ;)

Instead of 4 years how about we haven't won at Whitworth in about two visits...we're not the GNAC and don't play a round robin Rat.  You're better than that.

Linfield did string together about 15 consecutive wins at the Pine Bowl before so beating Whitworth there isn't something new.  I'm sure we'll be happy to oblige again next season.
