Because we've been down this road before, I'll do the Willamette fans a favor and provide some cut and paste material for those who bother to show up and post after the game on Saturday. I have heard it is hard type when disappointed.:

"Congratulations to UWW. They won the game. It's too bad the Bearcats saved their worst game of the season for this week. If we had played like we usually do, things would have been different. Anyway, great season Bearcats, we're proud of you!"

"To me the key to our game was that our offensive line didn't show up. The pressure up the middle threw off our timing. Well, kudos to the UWW defense. They did what no team has been able to do this year."

"I think our play calling left a lot to be desired today. Usually, coach Speck works wonders in that department. UWW seemed a step ahead of him all day. I was also surprised our defense didn't at least slow down UWW. Usually, we make enough plays on defense to allow our offense to rock. Well, good luck to UWW as they move on."

"This game was much closer than the score indicated. Three or four key plays made the difference. That's football. UWW was the better team TODAY (a favorite Mt. Union line)."

"Well, UWW was as advertised. Their fans talked some smack before the game, but their team was able to back it up. Now we know what level we need to achieve. It has been a great season. Good luck to UWW the rest of the way. (My suggestion for high character posters).

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you folks before Saturday.

What some of you UWW fans don't seem to get is the following:

You're playing the NWC Champ...not a CoChamp...not a good pool B or C team....We here at the NWC can see that Willamette is a special team this year....even if some of us don't want to admit that....Oh wait...it's the mighty WIAC Co-Chump...I mean Co-Champ were playing this weekend....the could of, should of team...who could of...oh wait it's the mighty WIAC.... ;D  Some of you WarHawk fans don't seem to take it serious to realize that the NWC is the only conference to have two legitimate National Champs since 1999 during the MUC reign of terror.  When has the "mighty" WIAC accomplished that...when will they accomplish that?  The NWC could be on the verge of making it three National Champs since 99....Many of us here are excited about that.

Now if Willamette loses Saturday...I'll forget this comment was ever posted....In fact I'll delete it. ;D

Here is some video of what Whitewater can expect on Saturday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur1f3YGaiHc&feature=related

$1000 says UWW has more yards rushing Saturday than the cumulative IQ of every person in that video!

Does the possibility that Willamette can't slow the UWW rushing attack cause any concern to Bearcat fans at all?

...no.

it should, b/c Whitewater will control the clock if they establish the run. More importanly, it'll keep Woo and the Flies off the field

...nope..... still not concerned about it!

Nearly every opponent WU has faced this season has had the "time of possession" advantage but they've still lost by an average of 42.8 to 18.5. Why should we be concerned about UW-W controlling the clock?

I have no idea who's going to win this game, but I'd be willing to bet the winner plays in the Stagg Bowl.

BTW there is a significant consolation prize for UWW after you lose the game...I suggest a tour of the "wine country" going towards McMinnville....once you arrive in McMinnville you can tour our beautiful Linfield campus and then take in the Air Museum which houses Howard Hughes' "Spruce Goose"  Of course some of you old timers may have done that...but for any of you new parents....it really is worth all the time....It would take most of Sunday.

+k for this post -- well said!!

And, about the "time of possession" -- isn't our offense just efficient?  Seems like a few teams this year beat WU statistically, but not in reality -- when you look at time of possession & some of the usual indicators, anyway!

So, BP -- you can have the stats win, we'll take the "real" win!

Is this the same NWC who's mighty champion last year didn't make the playoffs?  Oops, sorry, maybe I shouldn't have opened up old wounds....   ;D

Has anyone ever told you, BoBo, that you're correctly named?

You actually think the NCAA made a good choice to leave NWC Champ at home and put 3 Empire 8 teams in the playoffs.....

I'd bet heavily on the winner romping over the Monmouth/Wartburg winner, but don't discount the Millsaps/UMHB winner (my prediction for the South finalists) in the semi-finals.

Does anybody know what a Millsap is?
