No stated policy regarding three teams from a conference -- remember the NWC had four women's basketball teams get Pool B bids to the tournament a few years back.

NWC has to go through a two-year waiting period once Menlo is on board. Target 2008 as the automatic bid.

You seem to be mixing two questions in your post. 1) Would it be possible to have three in the playoffs from the NWC? - -  Ans.: Not likely, but if that third NWC team has clearly earned it more than the next at large team it is possible. 2) How would a committee break a three way tie? - - Ans.: Same way they did in 2001, I guess.   

Honestly, I think the NWC runner-up is nearly a shoe-in...but I don't see a third team making it. While that third team could probably play with anyone, you have to figure they've had their playoff game(s) during the season. And since they lost 'em, it's no big slight to leave them out. 2001 is one year where it would have been just if three slots were available.

I think this guy is supporting my opinions...but I can't really understand what the heck he is saying or get past all his yelling. I'm picturing a really angry, sweaty guy resembling Matt Foley (Chris Farley's motivational speaking character).

Fattie - chill a little before taking on one of the kingpins around these parts. Questions: 1) Are you saying that Linfield will lose it's grip on the conference in 5 years...or that they'll be all the way back to where the streak is in play (a la '96)? 2) Do you live in a van down by the river?

~as for the caps, merely an attempt to differentiate my reponse to various segments of your post. My apologies for assuming you have anything more than a simple mind, especially one that enjoys the benefits of intuition.

~as for the ridiculous predictions by ghc, i'm sure they were and "getting" them i did. I was only supporting d-train's comment on the point spread post.

furthermore, d-train wrote, "chill a little before taking on one of the kingpins around these parts." I'm sure you are a kingpin and have established your karma very well, however, I'll finish by reminding you that just because you are a "kingpin," that doesn't leave you immune to being wrong and capable of missing the point of a rookie, being right and reading carefully the post of the said rookie is what makes you immune. (ps~i've got a nice vaccination for you in the meantime)
