gotcha! Sorry, missed that. I suppose UWW probably did have 9 home games with home games throughout the playoffs. Thanks for pointing that out!

bleedpurple:
I miss read posts too. It's no big deal. Glad I could clarify the source for you.
Enjoy your weekend. I'll be watching the internet video broadcast of the UW-WW vs. Wartburg game this Saturday.

Thanks! I will be at the game. It should be a good game. Although UWW seems stronger, I read that Wartburg is one of the best teams in the country at forcing turnovers. We all know that turnovers can change a game. I have also read good things about their QB. But they rank low in their conference in stopping the run which could spell real trouble for them. Will be fun to see how it all plays out. Enjoy the broadcast!

Just wanted to wish my friends on the board a Merry Christmas.  I'll wave from the Stagg Bowl where Stone Station will be serving up a tailgate.  Too bad the game begins at 11 am.  But hey it'll still be a fun time!!

Yes, turnovers can be huge. The only thing I know about Wartburg is we (Linfield Wildcats)  defeated them in the 2002 playoffs by the score of 52-15  and again in the 2003 playoffs with a final score of 23-20. However, they are a new team since then and I'm looking forward to watching the game.

Merry Christmas to you olinemom. FYI: Our son Sean has left coaching and is now attending the Sheriff's academy here in Arizona. He just completed his 3rd week of training and will graduate in January 2009. He will be a DO (Detention Officer) in one of the local jails. He has wanted to be a police officer since he was a little kid. He will eventually become a deputy sheriff in a canine unit. He gets back to Linfield when he can. He was just there this year for the Hall of Fame game. Once a Wildcat always a Wildcat! Enjoy the Stagg Bowl!

...if Linfield ever got a Pool C bid do you think we could be shipped to the East?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If that ever happens, the NCAA will send us to Mount Union for the first game!

Next year!

That's fine....you have to play 'em sometime if they are the best and you want to be better.  ;)
Right Willamette?  :D

How about we all chill out by reading my recap of the Willamette/Whitewater game, eh? Wink  The copy editors did a number to it, so I'm posting the original version here.  To forestall any misunderstanding about the first two paragraphs, they're comparing the pedigree and facilities of WU and UWW.  Please note that there is no discussion of enrollment or GPAs, since I think they're pretty irrelevant to the discussion.

BearcatPress -- your presence has been a great contribution to elevating the level of information and comment on the board.  Wanted to add my props for your Willamette Collegian articles.  Have you thought about being a volunteer stringer for the Statesman Journal or the Oregonian?  (Maybe they would print a few more articles in the future).

GO BEARCATS!!!

Proud of Sean.  Being a Police Officer is even tougher than teaching.  I think it's great!!  I loved being at Linfield last year and hope to go again.  The people there were so gracious.  I loved every minute of my trip there!!  It was wonderful!!  I think the Stagg Bowl will be very purple:  UMHB / UWWW ? MUC all have purple in their colors.  I just don't think Wheaton can pull out a victory against MUC, but I remember the year that UMHB did.  That was the year that Linfield won the Stagg Bowl!!!  Have a great holiday!!

Olinemom, your the best!

I/we sure miss those brownies.........Who ever makes the Stagg this year will have a real treat.

3 Years is too long for us Linfield faithful to be with out  a play off game at least. I'm sure our coach's are working hard to get us the players we need, and the changes, improvements, in what ever needs to be fixed. ???

It's tough, but I know that nobody at Linfield is settling for second place in the NWC
Which means I guess we need to work a little harder. We are used to being the team everyone fears, time to regain that status. Just my Opinion of course, but I'm Spoiled............. ;D

GO WILDCATS
54 and 9-0 in 2009
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Even though I am backing UWW this (playoff) year, it looks like the Cru might be the real deal.  Should be a great game down south this week.

Tux,

I agree....."second fiddle" three years in a row is just not a comfortable place for us die hard Cat fans and clearly something we're not used to playing.

It time for "CHANGE" and that clearly means to have the Cats back in the playoffs in 2009!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

I'd like to see Whitewater win because they are from the West, but to tell you the truth, I'm getting a little sick of Whitewater, the same way I'm sick of MUC. If Whitewater gets in the Stagg this year that will be 4 years in a row. It is a credit to their program though to have such a young and talented team, they just seem to reload and play solid football.

Does anyone know if the UMHB/Whitewater game will be on internet video? Watched most of the WW/Wartburg game and thought they did a good job with it. Wartburg played a pretty good game for the most part but just couldn't answer and Whitewater beat them down in the long run.

I created a photo montage video on youtube of the games I shot this year.
