I was driving down to Sunny SoCal for the holdiays and happened to drive past the WOU team bus (must've been on their way to a soup kitchen for charity work or something).  I was lucky enough to snap This Picture as I drove by.  Nice to see some of the players get "window" seats  ;D

Okay, okay.....so I'm joining the WarHawk bandwagon.

I jumped on the warhawk bandwagon in '05 after that heartbreaker at the catdome.

Thanks #11 for the update.

What do you cats think about Franklin next year as the QB and moving Boehme to a receiver.
I say move Franklin to RB or WR and keep Boehme at QB.  Or just have both in the backfield.....Franklin can take a snap and throw it deep to Boheme, then on the next play while Boehme is catching his breath he can take the snap and throw a swing pass to Franklin in the flat and watch him run for big yards.....done.  I'll email coach Smith now :)

Whatever but it should be very exciting.

So it turns out I didn't write the season review article I was planning - Mike Reeves, a senior defensive end, took care of it from a player's perspective and did a fine job.  This year's seniors have really seen it all: from 2-7 to 11-1, and I couldn't be happier that they were able to finish their careers with such an outstanding year.

Good article by Reeves.

QuoteThat was the most physical football game I have ever been a part of.

Good thing he didn't have to play against Western Oregon. They were much bigger, quicker and more physical than Whitewater.

Did Reeves forget that the SOU and Whitworth games were very close?

I hear the AFL will not play this upcomming season but hopefully will be back in 2010.

Space limitations.  We devoted almost all of this week's section to the late Bruce Henderson.

I didn't expect to see those games fully detailed, but I found these statements to be inaccurate: "...during the first six games of the season, as we stormed past our opponents with relative ease... Our first real test came in week seven versus Linfield"

A matter of perspective, I suppose.  "Relative ease?" I can see how that statement is true, especially from a player's perspective.

They beat SOU by 8 and Whitworth by 9, and had to overcome deficits in both games.  But they outscored SOU in 3 of 4 quarters and outscored Whitworth 25-9 in the 2nd half.

RIP Coach Bruce :(

I just wanted to pop over and tell all of you NWC fans in Western Oregon(Portland in particular) to be careful out there!! These storms coming through are brutal!! I had to drive up to Portland yesterday and I must say, it has been a long time since I have had to drive with the road shining up at me! 8) Be safe and stay warm everyone!! ;D

Congrats to Scott Birkhofer for being names to the AFCA's All-American team.  That is a huge honor and Linfield's 40th 1st team All American player.
