As always, WC11, thanks for the video. It was good to see again what an animal Hughes was. He sure was fun to watch.

Congrats to L&C on their recruiting class.

Yeah nothing says intimidating like a 205 lb D-End wearing a jersey made for a 285 lb offensive tackle.

11- Another great job on the Wildcat videos.

In the Brandon Hughes clips, what team is that in the mudhole?  Linfield is in white, the other team in black.  I thought only Linfields turf looked like that come late November.

Thanks fbgcat.  That field belonged to Whitworth (1995) before the The Pine Bowl went under a major drain system upgrade.

Thanks 11.  I was thinking Eastern with the steam rising from their facemasks.  Could'a been Maxwell field of the 80's with all the mud and standing water.  By the end of November things were pretty chewed up at the old Catdome.  All three Championship games in the 80's being played at McMinnville High School because of poor conditions at Maxwell.

First thing on Mondays, before hitting the practice field, we'd form a line across Maxwell replacing divots, filling holes, picking up trash.  Team building at its best- All Americans working right alongside lowly freshmen.  And, honestly, a bit humbling knowing that stud Seniors got to do some grunt work too.  Great memories!!

Linfield recruit Evan O'Kelly a 3 sport all star at Grant High School will smash all previous kicking records during his upcoming 4 years in McMinnville.  Birkhofer's records will last maybe 2 years at best.

Who holds the most records for kicking (PAT/Field Goals) Scott Birkhofer or
Garrett Wales?

Probably have to wait until next season's media guide for the answer to that one. Those are two big names.

I hope the new guy is all you say he is, bballdave. We can sure use him.

I see that L&C has replaced Colorado College with Crown as a homecoming game.  That is a good winnable game.

Coco: Recruit Josh Repp from Los Osos High will have something to say about who takes over and will compete.  Josh all league three years from a very good program and tough league in Southern Cal.

...do these guys both kick and punt? I wasn't quite sure who our punter was last year?

Linfield punters were:

Jesse Boustead  6-0    150    Fr./ Fr.  Dallas, Ore.  and  Dan Egan 6-1 210 Jr./ Jr.   Springfield, Ore.

That's great news. I'd love to see L&C win their homecoming game. They have worked hard to get their new program going.

Isn't Crown the small school that SJU paid a few years ago to come play them, like a lamb led to slaughter?
