coocoo.
I think you are right , "They" will save $$ by matching The rats and cats in round 1..
I think that the MIAC will have both the Johnnies and the Cobbers get in. Do you think they'll match them in the first round to save $$ and what about second round if both SJU and UWW advance would they match them up as well for the same reason or are they more likely to put UWW in a different region?

...well I can see the rational to play Whitworth in the 1st round, but i would hope they would maybe let the flies out of their wallets and spice it up with an opponent other than Whitworth/NWC. After all this is the national playoffs, we've already beat Whitworth, and I'm sure they'ed rather play someone else also. They could probably do some damage in the playoffs if they didn't play us first. But first they have to beat Willamette and If Willamette beats Whitworth and Linfield beats Willamette, it could mean only 1 team from the NWC in the dance...so I guess if they are going to be tight and not bring in a team from out of conference, I guess I like the last scenerio best.    :'(
Bluenote....I think the one team scenerio is a very real possibility and if that happens I wouldn't be surprised to see Occidental again in the 1st round. I wouldn't mind playing Whitworth again but would want it no sooner than the 2nd round. Hey, we may as well have a couple NWC teams advance out of the 1st round.
Who knows, if Whitworth gets in maybee they'll have to take on Occidental in the first round.

Well, Lee was able to go over the 1,000 yard barrier for the season on Saturday.

Penn,

I was thinking that UPS coaching staff would give Lee a bunch more carries to help pad the stats after getting handled vs. Linfield.

What do you know.....35 carries vs. Colorado College.....funny how that works.  :)

WOU is physical and they are starved for any win that they can get.  Lee could get his 121 yards but he's going to have to earn it this Saturday.

Where we're at...think this season is a tad bit disjointed like bluenote and myself? Hopefully posting with bluster? A WIAC poster put up these links. Have a look and thank Gordon, OAS and Pat for knowing the most about Division III football.

At least it is a football fan's labor of love whether computer, dice or a fraternity pledge project does it:
http://prwolfe.bol.ucla.edu/cfootball/ratings.htm#second

Rank Team                     Div        W  L    PF   PA   Rating  Chg
287 Linfield                      III          6  0     294   80    0.480   11

lower than:

283 St Olaf
277 Johns Hopkins
269 Union NY
265 Delaware Valley
261 Trinity TX
258 Wabash
255 Monmouth IL
253 Thiel
247 Rowan
242 North Central
223 St John's MN
219 UW-Whitewater

Peter Wolfe is a good guy and I like him but I disagree with his formula. He has an automatic bonus for a team merely for being undefeated, which is how St. Olaf and Monmouth get ranked so high. It makes it unusable for Division III because there are so many teams that not everyone has to play someone good.

swede,

who knows at this point but remember both Texas teams last year were  ranked high and met too. ($$$ again)   I still think it's all about the $$$..

If I was ww I  would love to go out of the region.. (Softer road to the stagg)

Kilted Rat

DC1,

Agreed about softer road.

At this point, I believe that if they were each sent to different regions, UWW, Linfield, and SJU could all very easily make the National Semi's.

It makes me drool all over my keyboard to think about the possibility of a Linfield-SJU match-up in the Stagg because financially and time wise ESPN is my only chance to see SJU vs Linfield. :-[
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Lever Street

No team will want to come to Maxwell in Nov/Dec.  It's where good teams come to die.....I read that somewhere.

I'd like to see Whitworth play Oxy.  I think the Rats would beat them, even in Cali.

The WildCats will have to play good teams throughout the playoffs.  The West bracket will be loaded.  Even the 1st round will be a test.  The CATS will be fine tuned however.

Go CATS!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

GHC:

The twins just got back from the PBR Bull Rides in Vegas and sold gallons of coors.  You should have seen then ride the bull at Gilley's in SLOW Motion.. WOW.
They are due back this week for another go around  but,  I'm not sure I can keep up? I might need some help?  "it's in the bank"  and " the farm is for sale"  Salem East..

I will see you all up north come playoff time..
Go Cats

bluenote

DensLA....let's just leave it that you and me (and some other pods) probably dance  to the beat of a slightly different drummer from time to time than most of the other humanoids.  ;D

( a hot looking chick at the last game told me she wanted Foss to read her some stats at halftime!)....CoCo....cooks much better than Johnnie Red!

Foss

Blue, whatever does it for her.  :)

I can't woooo the ladies with music, unlike some posters on this board.  ;D
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

bluenote

Foss....the main man is DesertCat1. When he dawns those boots, that big shiney beltbuckle, the tight jeans, the bandana and his 10 gallon hat....the girls just quiver...I've seen him spin a blond bomshell into the floor with one twist of his wrist followed by the moon walk!!!   :o

D O.C.

Yeah, but when he shows up in those chaps with no Wranglers on it is kind of unnerving... :-\

bluenote

...ya...and it's even worse when he only wears the one gloove and nothing else...  :-*
