Little Coco said they were watching Rutschman, Nagel and Elliott working with the quarterbacks one day at the first camp and someone commented that if you couldn't learn the position from those three, then you ought to give it up.

I'm sure that whatever you design for shirts will be perfect. Wildcat11. Last year's were very nice, and they were good quality. Ours still look new.

Coco said he's really going to miss the media guide, too. People like Bluenote have helped out a lot with that in the past.

On another note, Coco was wondering why Eddie Griffin has never made it into the Hall of Fame. He's been nominated. You old-timers certainly remember him, and what a phenomenal athlete he was.

QuoteNice lead in, you two! What an opportunity to shout out to Wildcat11 and SID Kelly Bird about their Video Display Board winning entry in the Nat'l Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (say what?) "Best Of" competition slated for Saturday down in Magicloserland.

We took 3rd place.  We lost out to Grand Valley State (2nd) and Colorado College took 1st (I'm sure it was their hockey vid).

Not bad but we'll shoot for gold this year.  Go 'Cats!

BTW...Catdomealumni.com shirt ideas are posted up

DO.C. wonders aloud but has laid off the situation for now. Will try again with the backing of 5 inducted Hall of Famers.

Eddie's boys H.S. basketball team won a second Connecticut state title this season too! ?  ???

I just wanted to say what an excellent job on the catdome alumni website. I was browsing over there and was very impressed with what it has become. To quote from one of my favorite Beatles songs, "It's getting better all the time." Congratulations to all those involved and thank you very much for your time and effort. On a personal note, it means a lot to me as a father to watch the football videos of the games my son participated in and see him playing. Thank you and Happy Father's Day to all you dads.

54 in '09!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Good for him.
What's the deal with the HOF? He deserves to be in there.

Congrats to former Wildcat Brad McKecknie being named MVP as the South Valley Vandals win the NNFL Championship.

Thanks #11 for all the memories!

...awesome vids Wildcat11. Loved the retrospective on the '84 team and coach Ad Rutchman. It was great to see how the players/coach and administration (Dr. Walker) valued all the academics along with sports/football. The technique vids at the 2009 camp were great too. I learned a lot by watching them. Nice work....thanks!

Hey Wildcat 11,

You know I always love that old Linfield video, that win by the Wildcats over Nortwestern(Iowa) is actually one of the greatest comebacks in any college football title game.

Had a question for you regarding the recent Southern Oregon application to NCAA D2. Assuming the Raiders are able to make the transition, would you anticipate Linfield replacing SOU on future schedules with Eastern Oregon? I believe the series between the Cats and Mountaineers ended in 2003.

Thanks for the props fellas.  Always appreciated!  :)

Steel,

I don't know what Linfield has in mind with regards to their feature with SOU.  I think it was either SOU was going to have to move to Division II to try to save to program or eventually put it to bed.  We'll see but it sounds like SOU is going to apply to move to Division II within the year.

We have 2-year contracts with Cal Lu and LaVerne starting in 2010 and if Pacific hits the field by 2010 there are options IMO.

1) Move up to a 10 game schedule for the 2010 and 2011 seasons and keep SOU on the schedule.  We can move back to 9 after 2011 if we want (Whitworth has moved from 10 to 9 games in the past).

2) Dump SOU after 2009, back fill their slot with one of the SCIAC shools, keep a 9 game pure D3 schedule

3) Save some costs and dump one of the SCIAC schools and keep SOU on the 9 game schedule.

Who knows and it's probably not as simple or easy as the situations above but at least we have options.  Travel costs and securing games with a conference (SCIAC) that hasn't really been willing to make commitments to play in the past are HUGE factors to consider.

SOU and Linfield have been playing each other 32 out of the last 33 years and 19 straight years.  Each programs enjoys the game and low cost in the 1-day travel.  I just don't see the program walking away from the Raiders anytime soon but the competitive advantages of DII vs DIII are very clear and could be a tipping point.  We'll see.
