Great game yesterday! Well worth 550 miles of driving! Very impressed with hard running, line play, and NO FUMBLES! It's been a while since we have had that kind of performance.

PA, I'll give you a +K for driving 550miles to the game.  That's the least I can do.

Just guessing but does the PA stand for Palo Alto?

550 miles round trip. PA stands for Port Angeles, WA. Fall trips to McMinnville are a fabulous all-day adventure. Leave the house @630 AM- coffee stop in Sequim- lunch at Burgerville- game and home by 1130. Usually a snooze stop at one rest area or another.

"Well, good to see that Linfield is back. ::)

(You were never gone.)

....  I am worried about the penalties.  Two straight games of over 100 yards is not good. . . ."

BCP--seems like the Plague Doctor worked.   ;)  Only 2 Bearcat fumbles, but none lost (instead of 5 fumbles and 3 lost with the Cobbers)....    :)

What's the story on the multiple offside/illegal procedure penalties in the 4th quarter?  The broadcast reported that Coach Speckman was complaining that the Cobbers were mimicking the Bearcat QB and drawing the Bearcats offside.

Congrats to the Wildcats for an impressive start.  Good luck at Oxy.

Nice job guys! Good to see you shake those Texans off your back. Keep it rolling. Who knows ......maybe.... ;D
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Congrats Cats on the huge win this weekend!

Nasty little road trip coming up. 4 road games in a row?! Could be interesting by the time they return back to McMinneville.

Good luck Cats and hope to see you in Collegeville this year!

Congrats to Linfield on the big win.  I'll definitely be listening to next weeks' game, which starts at appx. 4am here!  I can't decide whether to wake up early or stay up late  :)

Good to see PPJ back on the boards.  I was afraid he got stuck at Rolling Hills Casino in Corning, CA on the way back from Oregon.  God knows he is a legend there.  Little known fact: PPJ invented and perfected the phrase "winner winner chicken dinner".

PPJ also puts me in the strange position of rooting for Oxy, for Simon, and against the rest of Linfield.  How about he goes for 200yds and Linfield loses in a shootout?

Does anybody know if the Oxy game will have a video link on the internets (;D)...or just audio?

Greetings from the Sunday Evening Quarterback Club.

Hey, I have to rain down on the Purrfest because what really happened was the LINFIELD  team executed and held on to the ball. That simple. For one game.

I am looking forward to watching them do it again this weekend.

WC 11,
Great post game interviews.  Seems like each of the guys is singing from the same hymnal and that's a good thing.  This just may be a real TEAM and not 22 individuals.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Congrats to the Cats on a big win!

The tiger football page says audio only. :-\

I am glad to be corrected here.....

Those LINFIELD fans traveling south can be prepared for a few modifications:
-the evening game will not require night vision goggles as OXY installed better lighting a
couple seasons ago; phone cameras will be of little use during the game as your seat will be about 150 feet from the closest action
-the field runs east-west;you'll be facing south and probably sitting on the west end of the grandstand; the 'Cats will be on your side of the field like a home game
-the grandstand you will be sitting on is concrete with no backs; it will start out warm enough after having soaked up the day's heat but will cool rapidly before halftime as this IS a semi-desert and the temperature will drop drastically after sunset
-restrooms and snacks will be on your left where you entered the grandstand; so will the drum circle and OxyBob
-the announcers and Kelly will be at the top of the grandstand in a room slightly larger than the room atop the dome; the grandstand is not covered; the chance of rain is zilch
-I vaguely remember that parents and girlfriends  :) are allowed on the field by gathering at the west end of the cement following the game; all us folk who never sit during the game are flush out of luck as there is no roaming any sidelines allowed, do NOT pay an extra 50 bucks to have your couch brought down on your airline

-those of you with limited time of 1 hour to do touristy things might simply take Eagle Rock Blvd. (west of the stadium) north to Colorado Blvd. and turn east (right) and take a trip across the Arroyo Seco Bridge (best viewed from in the canyon 100 feet below but at least you can say you were on it) with a quick look at the Rose Bowl on your left once you are on the bridge as you enter Pasadena; as you cross Orange Grove Blvd. perfect your smile and your princess wave for you are at the start of the Rose Parade; on your left is the quaint Norton Simon museum but I direct your attention to your right where the best of church tax exemption is Garner Ted Armstrong's Ambassador College with it's Ambassador Auditorium (if only you had more than an hour you could tour the auditorium and view it's real gold leaf, teak wood paneling, crystal chandeliers, and plush purple and gold carpeting that Jerry Buss must certainly envy); continue at a touristy 30 mph through Old Town Pasadena which was really was an old town with real artsy types until the Gap moved in (you are only about 4 miles from OXY at this point); suggest you turn right on Marengo Ave. or Los Robles Ave. soon after Old Town to Green St. one city block south of Colorado Blvd. It is a one way street running east but has more flavor of the Pasadena city that evolved separate from L.A. back before the megalopolis became the sprawl you see from your airplane. Let's cut right  off of Green St. on Oak Knoll Ave. to view the gentrified housing of the area keeping in mind the oaks may be indigenous but the Spanish and the settlers that followed had to bring just about every other plant. Turn around whenever you please to get back to Colorado Blvd. on just about any street. (if you run into the Ritz Carlton it gets tricky after that) Just head toward the mountains; left Colorado back to Eagle Rock. There's not much to see east of Lake Ave.
-Football? Occidental will wear black. It really used to be a weapon under the old lights because you couldn't see 'em very well.

And please do not go running to look at D3.com's conversation piece The Top 25.   ;)
