When I look at the option of the couch for a week VS  football, tailgate action and hangin with the boys.

I just think your skirt blew up in the wind and you can't see straight.

Cmon now take the couch and football my man

Looking forward to this weekend's game.  Great pregame write up 11. Although i'm hoping this game has a score that resembles something more of a pummeling than only a 10 point victory.
From what I can tell it looks like the internet vid will be free.  On that note, I might ask why it is that Linfeild charges $12.  Why are other teams (Whitworth and Oxy are the only two i know) able to do it without charging?

You can add Southern Oregon and :o Lewis & Clark to the list of schools doing it for free as well.

I would imagine it has some thing to do with ad revenue.  I'd be interested to know how many people opt to pay $10 - $12 per video as to how many people would use it if it were free.  Would more businesses provide sponsorship if they new theviewers received it for free?I imagine Linfield has at  contract with Stretch Internet for this season, but will it continue to next season?

Rocketman to look Elliot-Matthews esque this week 55-22 (OXy misses two extra points). Cats fly home powered by purple frisbees and SCIAC comes up with another reason not to pick up the phone next off-season.

FarAwayCat,

WC11 and GHC have a great trip down to Cali...being that far South for a game you might need to switch the longies over to a margarita for this week! ;D

I agree about the viewing of games being free...I'd be interested if the game viewers money covers the costs and how many people do it week to week.  Plus for 12 bucks a pop you would think that stretch could get the kinks out of the system.  Even in today's economy there has to be plenty of hometown businesses that would toss the cats some $ to run the site for free...???
Do you know what a JAIL BREAK is?

Gig Harbor Cat

Thanks 45,
11 is the social director for the trip, I guess we are going to pick up some tickets for the Dodger game tomorrow night.    Life is good.

full report to follow.

There's no such thing as a "free lunch" or a free game. Someone somewhere is paying for it. Laying out $12.00 to watch my son's former team play in the privacy of my home is money well spent especially since I no longer travel to the Catdome. Sure I could go to a AZ. Sun Devils game and spent 4-6 times that amount for the evening, but why do that. I'd rather watch the 'Cats. My bet is that sooner or later those other teams will end up charging viewers, before Linfield provides "free" coverage. Like snapper 45 said, I would like to know how many internet viewers are watching the games. Perhaps wildcat11 could create a survey on the web and find out. Either way $12.00 is a very affordable amount to pay for a college football game.

GO 'CATS!
54 IN '09!

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

It's definitely worth it... when it works.
But I would imagine that there are maybe hundreds of people more who would watch it if it was free.  Is that enough to bring in more paid advertising? I don't know.  The people who would advertise would probably be local business and the people who would watch aren't that local anymore.
But regardless, I am very interested to know how many people do sign up for it each week.

CatDad

Headed out tomorrow night on a 8:55 flight to the land of the stars.... time for the 'Cats to rock the City of Angels!!

GHC - May your trip  to Smogsville be a safe one!  Hope you have a great time.  If you were at the Dome Saturday, sorry I missed you as I was really thirsty for one of your great refreshments.  Had a City social function had to be to, but of course I did manage to leave a little early with Prof Dave to ensure I was able to get to the dome on time and watch the Cats lay that good ole Woopin on them Texas boys.

Was hoping to make it to Smogsville myself, but previous comittments keep me and Mrs Mayor Cat from attending.  I will have my ear bud in and my walkman in my pocket of course.  I will be there in spirit.  Have one for me.

A warm hello to Coco, WC11, Bluenote, and all my other board friends.  'I AM BACK'   ::)

Well My Goodness...it's about time TopCat...or excuse me Catville Mayor...great to see you are back on board!

Lever Street

Man, that's why I just enjoy the drive down 99W over to CatDome and buy my $8 GA ticket.  Walk around the field and watch the CATS score TDs in person.
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!
