Las Vegas Wildcards

Very impressive road win, I caught parts of the game from the Oxy feed when it wasn't freezing up. The announcers did a fine job, those guys don't have the support or benefit of instant replay. It was also refreshing to watch a football game without getting bombarded with erectile dysfunction commercials. On the bad side, the game needed a score and time graphic. The camerawork was poor, looked like it was done by someone who never watched football on TV.

Congrats to Linfield, it sounds like whatever adjustments they made in the second half really paid off. Hey WC11, heard you were nearly hit on the sideline in the first quarter, was it as close as the announcers described?

Great job, Wildcats! Enjoy the trip back home.

PPJ, your boy is going to need some ice.

Just back from the game.  The lighting at Oxy's field was inadequate making it hard for fans and announcers to see what was going on at times.  I'm guessing players may have had trouble seeing balls as well.  Anyway--good win for Linfield.  The first half, the D wasn't getting pressure and Oxy was able to complete a lot of passes especially on 3rd down.  In the second half, the D took charge and allowed the Offense to do it's thing. Some really great play calling tonight including the pass-back to Boehme.  Linfield's D stuffed the run pretty much all night except when the Oxy QB scrambled---he looked pretty slippery and our guys did not tackle him as well as they could've.  Offense was a bit flat in the first half but really moved the ball well in the 2nd.  All and all a good win--things to improve on but anytime you can go into the home of a ranked opponent and win---it's good.  Nice to meet a few of you but didn't get to see as many of you as I'd hoped.  I got a late start and just hit the Linfield BBQ and then the game instead of the tailgate scene.  I think I saw a GHC down on the field at one point and of course I saw 11 on the camera.  Anyway--good job Cats!
Go Cats!

Great game tonight. Two heavyweights slugging it out. The PLU - CLU game was ugly for the Lutes.

Goodmorning posters. Still in L.A. Will be leaving shortly. Not alot of Tailgating going on last night. Not to many parking lots. Got to meet a couple fellow posters, DOC and one other that I can't remember who he was. He told me to tell Grouchygramps hi. I think I seen Cawdad. All in all great game and good win. Oxy was brutal. Hit hard and the QB did a good job of finding the opening receivers. The Cats sputred a little bit the first half and the Salty D was just getting going. Second half was what I expected. The Cats made the necessary ajustments and controled the second half. Great Win. With a sad ending. Simon broke is clavical on the second to last play. Kid came of the end and stuck him. Good clean hit. See everyone in SOU.

Sorry to hear that PPJ---what's the prognosis?

They say 4-6 weeks for simon. Not much you can do. Just let nature take it's course. If things go right he should be ready for playoffs.

Fun day getting to see three NWC/SCIAC games !  Claremont /UPS not much there but Pomona/Lewis and Clark great show.  Lewis and Clark much improved from last year and has some players to build around.  Lewis and Clark will be a factor in the next couple of years.  Linfield/Oxy was the dessert of the day.  Oxy with their QB Saunders controlled first half by controlling T.O.P. with his legs and throwing underneath.  Third quarter Linfield controlled T.O.P. .  Forth quarter went back and forth with Cats ending up on top.  Biggest difference was Linfield had some big running plays and Oxy with a good running back could not get it going on the ground.  Oxy's QB looked really good and puts Oxy in a better position to defend the SCIAC then I first thought.

Sad day in Mudsville. How in the world do you break a clavical bone in football?Your shoulder pads go up to your neck, your helmet comes down to your neck, and bingo you break a clavical bone. They say everything happens for the best. I guess that is one consolation. Anyway, GO CATS! You will be fine, and it is my guess that you may go undefeated this yr, and for sure make it to the playoffs. I have got to hand it to Coach Smith. Linfield comes out running, running, and running some more and when they do pass the receiver is all alone and runs it in for a TD. Way to go Coach. See you all in Ashland.

PPJ and Grouchy Gramps,

Sorry to hear about Simon but it's a long way to November and time for him to heal.  Here's hoping the Cats continue their winning ways and sweep into the playoffs.  Simon will be ready and anxious to get back on the field and help the Cats continue their march thru the nations finest.

GO CATS....ONE GAME AT A TIME!
