Four of the top eight teams are from the West. Powerful region we have this year.

No joke, some big guns, if things pan out I think UWW will get moved and MUC will be shifted again. Central SJU/UST winner, Linfield seem to be the top three at the moment

Curious as to what the PF was on that fumble return....

Was that a streaker?

George Thompson

Just arrived home from Spokane.    My observations:

1.   Spokane:  Very nice city with lots of Midwest-style brick buildings.     Friendly people.   Food was outstanding at the restaurants:  Luigi's, Frank's Diner and the lounge in Spencer's Steakhouse.

2.   Whitworth University: beautiful campus with majestic pine trees everywhere.   Forest-like setting.    Students very friendly, even with my Linfield attire.    Setting of their Pine Bowl football field is best in the NWC.    Reminded me of St. John's natural bowl setting.

Congrats on the Wildcats - another impressive road win.   They look outstanding most of the time.   Sometimes, their mental mistakes cost them.    Mentioned by others already.

Passing game we all know is very good.   But, the running game is a pleasant surprise.     O-line is most impressive.    Boehme has all day to throw.   And they open some nice holes for the runners.

The Pirates never gave up.   After losing their great running back, and then losing their 1st and 2nd QBs in this game, still they did not quit.   Their 3rd string QB rallied them.    Although it was very clear that Linfield simply had too much horsepower for them, I credit Whitworth for not ever quitting.

The Willamette game will be huge.   The Wildcats need an A game without the mental errors.

GO CATS GO!
GO CATS! GO!

Adam Anderson being out from the opening kickoff of the season is a shame.

Having complained  ??? about a running game in my life, I would like to state how seemless Mr. Williams has made the LINFIELD team feel after he stepped up after the unfortunate 'game was over' injury to Mr. Lamson.

Any useless penalty on the LINFIELD coaching staff should be done for the season. Period.

Actually second game against La Verne not Hardin Simmons

You hate to see these kids get hurt, and we've sure had our share of injuries over the years. I wish Whitworth's QBs a speedy recovery, but their third string freshman did pretty darn good.

Back when I played we didn't have any really dirty schools. OCE (now WOU) was probably the worst, but even they weren't too bad. Linfield and PLU always were the classiest. Knock 'em down, then help 'em up.

Penalty on the staff? I missed it, what happened? I heard the sideline interference call, but didn't know why the flag was thrown.

It was when Linfield picked up a fumble and was in the processing of returning it.  The coach in question was down field and working on his clipboard during the play and was slightly outside the coaching box.  The change of possession happened and the ref and coach had an incidental collision.  The coach felt awful about it and apologized to the official.  There was another penalty on the return regardless.  In the end it didn't matter as the 'Cats drove down and put it in the EZ.  It was just a freak thing that happened.

BTW...there was a streaker that hit the field during the 3rd quarter and managed to get away.  He had decent speed in the open field.  Whitworth may want to sign him up.

Thanks wildcat11.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

The Pirates would have to use that guy on the naked bootleg, did security wind up tackling that poor bastard?

The ADvantage has a special treat for you all...we were able to capture the streaker during the streak extension clinching game.  WC11 added a little family safe editing to the clip.

Nope.  I think they refs were slightly distracted for a moment!

Still in Spokane. Spending some time with my oldest son and his wife.
For those of you who havn't been to a Seatle Seahawks game in Seatle its a must do. The Wife and I took a tour bus with my son and his wife. The bus ride was long and boring but Quest Field is the best Football Stadium I have ever been in. Full of life and loud. What a great game. Even though we sat about ten rows from the top there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Great day.

Now for Cat Talk- I agree the Cats need to stay focus. So we will talk Salem next week.

Did any notice how fired up Coach Smith got on some of the calls. Like the Pass interference and the forward progress had been stoped. The Coach can get at it. For being a calm, cool quiet dude the Coach looks like he is ripping them refs a new one and throwing it back at them. And the refs never give him a warning. Coach you are to good. Thanks for the entertainment.

Go Cats
