Bubba getting "trucked" by Aaron was a highlight for me as well!!

I wonder if Bubba is thinking he's snake bit. Every team he plays for doesn't win the Conference title. hmmmmm

Hmmmm indeed! Isn't the conference championship decided AFTER conference play concludes?

You really think Linfield will lose their last 2 games?
Actually, if PLU beats Whitworth, Menlo and then the Cats---our Autobid goes to the Lutes (if I'm not mistaken).  Meaning the Cats would only have to lose one game.  I'm not saying this is likely--just clarifying a possible scenario....and PLU seems to be getting better each week so the Cats need to stay focussed for the next two games before they worry about Championships and playoffs
Oh. Wont happen though with Rocketman

Careful now, Mikey ran off a 40 yarder to keep WU's hopes up.

....does anybody know if Bubba and Mikey will be going to Pacific next year?

Great game in Salem yesterday.  I was impressed with the variety of ways the Wildcats gained yards on offense.  Good use of the TE and screens; QB making plays with his legs; etc.

It's too bad about that Concordia game for the Bearcats.  I'm sure the result would be different if played now.  But as is, they need some serious help to make the playoff field.

Congrats to the L&C Pio's! Will they get a conference win this year as well (they host UPS the last week)?

UPS vs. Pios should be interesting---you have a team with pretty good offense but no D (Pios) vs. a team with no offense and a pretty good D (UPS)---I actually like the Pios in this one....
Go Cats!

Second that for L&C... great commentary on their coaching staff and the kids for hanging in there.... will be a BIG game for the Pios and Loggers on the 14th...

It's all supposition, but I don't think LC would have faired much better making the long trip to Minnesota on the first Friday of the season, arriving at the hotel just before Midnight, then having to play in front of 4000+ hostile Cobber fans in Concordia stadium on short rest w/o even a visitors walkthrough. I'm just sayin...

That's all in the past now though - time to take care of business against UPS and then Menlo!

I haven't checked the scenarios yet, but I like that idea.

I won't comment on the travel planning there, but certainly Linfield's record on the road speaks for itself this year -- especially if Oxy wins the SCIAC.

Monrovia Cat is right on! Both we (and the boys) need to focus on one game at a time.

Let's not assume the next two games are throwaways. I've been a Cat Fan for too many years to forget those heartbreaking end-of-season losses (to teams we should have whipped easily) that kept us out of the playoffs.

Go Cats. One game at a time.  :)

Does anybody know when the 1st 2009 NCAA Regional Rankings will be released? And does anybody want to speculate on what it might be for the West Region as things stand now? Also ....any opinions on whether Whitewater will stay in the West this year?

I know it is this week - Thursday, perhaps?

IF Wheaton had won yesterday, UWW would probably have stayed in the West; now I think they'll take over the 'North', with MUC moving to the 'East'.  (I think NCC is probably powerful enough to deserve a #1, but no way will a one-loss team get that seed.)

I'm thinking that L&C might be able to get it done vs UPS.  It's going to be tight but L&C could get it done and I'm hoping it happens.

Congrats to Menlo for the big win over Whitworth.  Looks like the Menlo staff might have a better handle on the team than some parents sitting up in the bleachers.

What? The coaches on the field knew more than the parents in the stands? In all my years of coaching, I've never heard of such a thing.

Congrats again to the Wildcats for their performance yesterday. Like one poster said, it is a backyard rivalry, and it does feel good to win it. It's unfortunate when a few bozos get out of hand and give everyone a bad name. A couple years ago some idiot slashed a tire on my son's pickup that was parked in the lot in front of the stadium. It had Linfield stickers on it, so I'm guessing it wasn't an accident. Those things happen.

The Boehme/Lemon deal was awesome!

Thanks Badger.  It was a great day in a Valley and a great day to be a Wildcat.

New Top 25 is out:  4 out of top 6 teams are in the West Region.  Same old, same old in regards to the West being the deepest and toughest region in DIII.  http://www.d3football.com/top25/2009/week-8
