Teams are apparently NOT seeded.     Here is a reply from the NCAA to my email this am:

We do not seed the teams on the DIII football bracket.  The home teams are determined by evaluating which institutions have submitted bids to host and the selection criteria.  Teams are notified on Friday prior to a game if it is clear who will host the next round and others are determined on Sunday morning as the committee reconvenes to decide this.

This is the way it has always been in DIII football.

Thanks for your support.

Nancy,

I hope you can answer a question that is being debated by many fans.   What is the seeding of all 32 teams in the selection announced yesterday?

No one seems to know and there is much debate on who is seeded where in the rankings.   We D-3 fans are always excited about the playoffs and would like this information since it determines which team will be the host game for the first four rounds.

Many were disappointed that this not announced yesterday with the bracket announcement.

Thank you,

George Thompson"

Wish it was saturday already- cannot wait for the game. Appreciate the info. bearcat press. Part of me feels bad for wu, but then the other part of me knows that had they made it, the cats would have had to play them again and I, for one, would want no part of that.

Linfield is the #2 seed as every story printed about the cats states they are- KB release etc....(I know most of the outlets take their info from KB, but I also trust he is correct on this.)

I am most dismayed right now by the fact that a webcast of the game is only 'being discussed' and not a sure thing. C'mon athletic dept- you obviously have everything in place! I am begging to have you let me give stretch internet and the cats my $$$!
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

GHC,

Suggest you try Clam Chowder at Dooger's in Cannon Beach.    Best I have ever had.    And it is a Happy Hour special from 4-6 upstairs in the bar.

The funny things is, the email contradicts past playoffs. In the past, they have even seeded the top 4 seeds by strength to determine who plays in the semifinals. Taken at face value, that email would indicate that a mt union or st johns would have the possibility of going on the road for the quarterfinals, and that is not going to happen. Ever. Plus, I would assume all these teams put in bids to host, so therefore, why don't they just seed them and make it easier??? I would still think it is safe to assume that that linfield is the de-facto #2 seed, DOC. We will stay home until (if all things go well, knock on wood) we meet up in collegeville.

GHC I've got your "insider info" right here.  Cats go down in Round 2 to the mighty squad from Mary-Hardin Baylor.  Remember your boys want NOTHING to do with a return trip to the Gates of Collegeville...

When I went to collegeville in 2003 (and saw the cats nearly beat the eventual champs) I was most intimidated by the little kids sliding down the hill in the back of the end-zone. Those snow suits really rattled the cats.

Last year I was told just the opposite by the committee chair, who said that although the teams were seeded, cost considerations trumped everything else. That's why #2 seed Oxy played at #1 seed Willamette.

Shonna Brown and the NCAA are full of crap.

Any word on a live video feed for the game this weekend? Trying to make it out there but don't know if it will happen. Would appreciate a link!

my class still has a hard time getting past the stigma of that 2-7 freshman campaign.

Well, Linfield hasn't been that bad in 55 years so I don't know what stigma there should be about Linfield football in regards to the students.   ;)
