Btw, never found jiggles... Kinda made me upset but I dealt with it. Portland is I cool city as well, enjoyed downtown and the weather was actually refreshing. For a weekend at least - won't catch me out of the sun for any longer.

Go lu!

How many of your guys will be back next season?
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

We lucked out that the rain held off yesterday.

On another note, we were headed up to Portland today and saw a black SUV going the same way decked out with Wildcat flags in the back windows. We noticed a Linfield football helmet sticker on the back window and figured that the man and woman inside had seen their son play in a great game yesterday and were headed back to Washington.

Wildcats are everywhere.

I was thinking that the home field announcements for the next round were going to be made today?....It's 7 pm PST and I haven't heard an official announcement yet  ???  I was thinking that there may be a headline on the front page here at d3football.com?

How far is McMinville from Portland. Any decent hotels to stay at in Mcminville.

Hi Crudbdad.

McMinnville is about an hour and half drive from Portland International.  Being that if you were coming in on Friday, it may be a little less traffic and you may be able to make it in an hour and 10 minutes.  We are about 45 Miles SW of Portland International.  Pretty easy drive too.

If you want to stay in town I would recommend the Comfort Inn and Suites or the Red Lion Inn.  The Best Western Vinyards Inn is also pretty good and they are all less than 5 minutes from the Catdome.

Both the Comfort Inn and Red Lion are also just 2-3 minutes from downtown where all the good eating and drinking establishments are.  Try Golden Valley Brew Pub for dinner.  Right down the street is a good old watering  hole know effectionatley as the 'D' short for Deluxe.  Some fans meet there Friday evening and some go to the Elks.

If you come out hope you have a great trip
Crudbdad:
If needed, there is a Best Western and other hotels in the town of Newberg which is about 20+ minutes from Linfield.
Be sure you drive the posted speed limit going through the towns surrounding McMinnville.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

I would add Geraldi's Restaurant in downtown Mac, on 3rd Street, if you like italian food. Highly recommend the spaghetti w/meatballs and garlic bread. I used to work across the street near the health food store, and ate there often.

The CLU team you saw on saturday will lose some vital senior leaders, but will return a hoard of their top performers next year. Seniors that you saw that will not return include QB #12, FS #7, DE #18, RB #15, wr #1, lb #35, and a few OL including #55, #61 ...

Overall they have a good group of younh guys coming up to fill spots, as well as what will sure to be another very strong recruiting class. Look for more speed and less mistakes next year.

Go lu!

Interesting reading and something to do while waiting for Saturday's game(s).
Some excerpts from the NCAA DIII Football Championship Handbook:

Division III Site-Selection Criteria
The Division III Championships Committee has prioritized the site-selection criteria
in the following order for Division III championships:
1. Quality and availability of the facility and other necessary accommodations;
2. Geographical location (including such factors as rotation of sites, weather conditions,
accessibility and transportation costs);
3. Seeding; and
4. Attendance history and revenue potential, which shall be considered necessary to
assure fiscal responsibility.

The Division III Football Committee will award sites for the championship in the
following manner:
First- and second-round, quarterfinal and semifinal contests—Sites will be awarded
to the highest-seeded teams in each of the brackets (assuming that these teams have met
all of the site-selection criteria and have submitted bids to host).

Championship Structure
The championship provides for a maximum field of 32 teams. The 32 teams will be
placed in four competition brackets each consisting of eight teams.
Geographic proximity takes precedence over seed when placing teams on the bracket.
Play will continue in second-round, quarterfinal, semifinal and final competition. The
first four rounds will be played on the campus of one of the competing institutions or
at an alternate site approved by the Division III Football Committee. The final will be
played in Salem, Virginia. The championship bracket is listed in Appendix A.
