Lever Street

Just returned home from Catdome.  Man, what a game!

The 3rd quarter was amazing.....27-0.  Both O and D were unstoppable in the 2nd half.  It's a great dat to be a Linfield Alum!

Go CATS Go!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

AO

Tommie bandwagon fan here...  Should be a good game based upon what I saw from the webcast of your game today.  Very nice camerawork by the way--most of these webcasts use the coaches desired view of seeing the whole field the whole time-which doesn't work when you're trying to stream video live on the internet in a lower quality format, but the linfield cameraman used the zoom to his advantage.

Here's my best guess as to what happens next Saturday: Linfield overlooks St. Thomas, and the Tommies utilize their clear advantages in size, speed, talent, and coaching to win 35-14.    just a thought.  ;D

Pat Coleman

Definitely a bandwagon hanger-on. AO is a Northwestern (Minn.) fan by trade.  :)

D O.C.

Flabbergasted.

What I saw was a UMHB team that was large, fast and confident.

What I saw ....In the second half LINFIELD had to punt again. The snap skidded on the field turf right to the punter. Every other player -except the center- had no idea the ball was on the ground. The punter was very composed and got off a great punt. LUCK changed here.

Shortly thereafter 'CATS intercepted with long return and soon scored.

UMHB fumbled deep in LINFIELD  territory but #2 got his drop back. Fumble again very next play for a LINFIELD TD, a long one. Another fumle for a long TD. Two interceptions for long TDs.
UMHB tailspin. It was embarrassing to watch - almost.

Two one-handed TD catches in the same game?

UMHB # 9 - what a one handed praying mantis catch and he got hit too!

LINFIELD  guy (sorry) a funny one hand interception right in front of the UMHB bench for a long TD.

True, one of top LINFIELD wins in 54 years.

Punter is a freshman and if I am not mistaken he took a snap last week off the turf and it looked like through the stream he had two off the turf deep in Cat territory..nice under pressure

CAT BAT 22

I felt the same way as a few of the previous posters... it looked like the Cats were over-matched early.  I finally tuned in to the live stream when it was already 14-3 and couldn't help noticing that UMHB looked faster (DB's blowing up the bubble screens) and seemed to have our O line struggling to protect Boehme for the first time this year.

Linfield stalled on 3rd and 1 on the UMHB 10 and settled for a FG to bring it to 14-6.  I was scratching my head on the double reverse call and actually wondered if I wasn't the only one that felt we were overmatched based on the play call.

I wonder the last time (if ever) we've had 3 defensive TD's... could have easily been 5.

I agree with one of the UMHB posters that they were out coached today... Great Job!

BooYa!  That was a heck of a game-  I'm so bumming now that I'll be in a class next Saturday :(  Can I check this board with an Iphone (my friend has one and I may have to borrow it for Saturday's game)---I think I'll catch the first half over lunch break (fingers crossed about that) but won't see the finish...
Go Cats!

Bubs1856

Wow.  That was a good one. How about Jackson Vaugan and his staff making adjustments n the second half?  Great effort on both sides of the ball.  Let's get a great turn out next week.  And FYI.  U can do all this with your iPhone Monrovia

Wow-great job Cats. My son and I watched the video stream (he plays for the Loggers). His comment after facing the two O tackles and then watching this game - "Check out 73 and 74 and how much time they give Boehme - man they are good! And they look so much bigger on the video!"

That third quarter was one for the ages. MHB looked so confused, and the Cats just kept on rolling. Clutch performance. I sincerely doubt they will look past the Tommies. That guy might have to score right if you reverse it.

Mcat, you should be able to watch the video on your Iphone, as well. Go Cats!

Wildcat'64

I sincerely doubt any Cat fan is looking past St. Thomas.  Any team that can lose 20-17 in Overtime to St. Johns (who ran thru their entire schedule undefeated until the playoffs) is no slouch.  We don't have such a stellar record in defeating teams from the MIAC so it' time to get ready for a team that could well be the best team we've faced all season.  I like the Cats chances if the Big D plays next Saturday and  if they have another stellar performance next Saturday.  Truly a game for the history books.  Other than the Championship come back game, I can't recall another defensive performance like this over the past 49 years that I've been watching the Cats.

GO CATS>>>ONE GAME AT A TIME!!!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Just a great day to be a Wildcat!  I was a bit concern after the first two UMHB drives but it was just a matter of our defensive front adjusting to their style of play. Linfield has seen so many zone teams that it was like jumping into freezing water when the 'Cru came into the game firing out and running downhill.  Once Linfield settled down those 8 yards rushing plays turned to shorter gains and the complexity of the game started to change.

UMHB is a great team and has talent up and down the roster but Linfield is just getting it done this season.  Great performance by the 'Cat players and staff.  Another purple team comes to the 'Catdome next week and I'm looking forward to it.

Now do the Johnnie fans get behind the 'Cats or start pulling for the Tommies?  :)

Congrats on a great win! I'm pulling for you guys against St. Thomas only because I want a titanic (yet big UWW win) in Whitewater in two weeks!  ;D

Wait...so you're saying you want Whitwater to be the Titanic in two weeks?  Linfield or the Tommies would be happy to help out with that.  ;)

Gig Harbor Cat

Great jobs Cats

Another easy drive home.

See you next week

It was the ti leaves. Had to be. Did you notice the ti leaves in the north end zone last Saturday? The Otineru family brought them and they bring good luck. The Otinerus were back again this weekend with more ti leaves and Kyle's mom gave my wife a handful, which I held and waved during the game. Hey, when you have all those folks from Hawaii waving ti leaves, ain't no way you gonna lose!

Thank you, Mrs. Otineru.

The game today got more amazing as it went on. By the end I was speechless. Joe Smith and his coaches have done a spectacular job of bringing this team along the past few years, and this year is the culmination of that. Just an awesome effort by the players and coaches.

Bring on the Tommies!
What is a Tommee anyway? Kinda like a Johnnee?
Did TDT make it to the Catdome for the game?
