swede...if you can take the girls to the poohall and get stains all over the tux you can get me my hotdog! It's not much to ask!!! (but please wash off first) TuxGuy has informed me he will be fitting you with a bright purple tux (with tassles and a tie-died tophat) and white platform shoes to match.  And for TopCat1's order... he'll need about 10 hotdogs to start as an appetizer, with a main course of 1 whole chicken, 3 lbs of potatoes and gravy, 7 corn on the cobbs, and 4 loaves of Wonder bread with jelly and butter... followed by a whole warm apple pie ala mode for desert.   ;D

Well....I guess I agree with all you guys about Linfield playing D2 and NAIA. It wouldn't really do us any good but it sure would be fun to play 10 games instead of 8 for regular season!!!

(but please wash off first) I have told TuxGuy to get you fitted with a brite purple tux (with tassles and a tie-died tophat) and white platform shoes to match.  And for TopCat1's order... he'll need about 10 hotdogs to start as an appetizer, with a main course of 1 whole chicken, 3 lbs of potatoes and gravey, 7 corn on the cobb, and 4 loaves of Wonder bread... followed by a whole apple pie ala mode for desert.   ;D
Then he'll wash it down with a Bottle of Jack Danials and be ready for the playoffs.

Top Cat 1,

Glad to see you are back on the posting board.....you have been conspicuous by your absence...of course I guess this is probably budget time at City Hall....Hopefully you've got your colleagues convinced to not raise any property taxes on poor out-of-state Cat fan property owners.....
I'm counting on you and CamCat to call the right plays at Catdome South so that we can waltz into the playoffs one more time!
I still think the LizCats will be gunning for the Cats and that we better bring our A game in order to make a statement before the playoffs.....
I'm in serious discussions here on the home turf as to what my Playoff travel schedule is going to look like...I've got Wildcat 1 gassed up and ready to go just in case I get the kitchen pass.

p.s.  Save one of those Spur Hot Dogs just in case and of course a little of that Jack Daniels.

LEAVE NO DOUBT

Camcat,

Are you going to make it to Cat Dome South this weekend.  If so, I will be looking for you.  You are always welcome to sit by us.  We can discuss playoff tickets.  Hopefully by then I will have my plans made and see what I have left.

Hope to see you there.  Too bad the politician from the great State of Alaska cannot make it down.  I have been watching his local Abode and have some bad news to report to  him   ;D

Topcat1 Nice to see you back on the board. I was not planning on attending the Willamette game on Saturday but will listen on the net.   I'm certainly up for going to the Wildcat Playoff games as I did last year.  I'll give you a call in the next couple of days.  Hope all is well with you and the great City of McMinnville.

Congratulations to Dr. Thomas Hellie, just named the new President of Linfield.  He was a tenured professor at Hiram College (amongst a whole bunch of other impressive accolades)  whose football success could best be summarized by saying "they suck"  He will find a refreshing change in football attitude once he sets foot on the Linfield campus.  Welcome Dr. Hellie.

Regarding the discussion about Menlo possibly being dropped from the NWC if Pacific or another NW school joined. Maybe that will happen but I really hope not because we never know what might happen 5 or 10 years from now. We sure wouldn't want to find out someone is dropping football and then be without enough members again. L&C has given us a scare and they, or any other NWC team, could do so again down the road. Menlo has made the commitment to be a part of the NWC and I hope the conference honors that for the long term.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

bluenote...we are quite lucky this year that the NCAA expanded to 32 teams. Can you just imagine having a bye after the Willamette game? What would you do!!!? Hellie if I know! :D

Dens....I'd go over to the CatDome...lay down in the middle of the field, lookup in the sky and get some groovy karma going watching the clouds and glancing now and then at the scoreboard and press box. Then I'd eat some sushi and have a cold Tsingtow Beer while listening to some old Percy Faith albums....then I'd post on d3football.com about how bad it was to have a bye! :'(

Foss,

I think the Menlo problem is that they don't fit in the conference academically.  This is the same problem Eastern Oregon faced a few years back.

Don't be surprised if George Fox adds football sometime in the next 10 years.  I know there are a lot of influential people over there that want that to happen.  They have a few things to take care of of before football can be considered more seriously, like finishing the building projects they have, but I know it is a real possibility.

While the Wildcats of McMinnville are the undisputed kings of D3 football in the west (and specifically the NWC).  There is little doubt that the Bearcats of Willamette are the second best program on the west coast.

Congrats on Second place.  Is this a life time achievement award or something you play for every year?

I hope it works out for the Pios. maybe The Cats could play the J.V. against them, before you trash me, the J.V. just beat the second best team in the country..... Linfield Alumni. IMHO

On the tux and swede.......stop on by, we will see what we can do! I want more then a Hotdog though!!!!Just 2 rows up from Bluenote! ;D

Speaking of a tux, I'm going to need one for Mayor's Ball in Feb.

Wu being the second best program in the west? Arghhh. My head hurts.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Tez18, ....Happy to help! :) I help the kids on the Block each year!

Looks like rain for sat. but I'm sure the skys will open up when the Cats take the field.

Pat....Noticed the vote on the front page"competitive Rivalry game". Wouldn't the Wildcats vs. Bearcats count, we are playing for the Conference title? Sure they lost a few, but this is always a good game! I'm sure their are many rivalries this weekend though.

See you all at the Game....GO WILDCATS!   Welcome Dr. Hellie
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Believe you me, this is the most glowing Division III football article to ever be squeezed out of the LOS ANGELES TIMES.
