Did MUC have Whitewater on the ropes in the 4th quarter...at home? Whitewater had The Stagg Bowl in hand the whole time....Whitewater had to scratch and pray to beat Linfield. We just didn't make a couple plays or we would ahve beaten Whitewater....MUC wasn't ever in the game.

Well...that blows my theory.... :P  Unfortunately I just saw the final score and listened to a little of the first half on the internet...that brings me to this question....can we have the Stagg Bowl played in a warmer climate so it can be on a regular ESPN channel....it seems like kind of a rip off that a lot of people were unable to watch it on cable TV? But my first question does have a point.

Mr. Ypsi

If the only part you actually heard was the first half, I can understand your assumption!  UWW was utterly unstoppable then.  MUC dominated much of the second half; some Warhawk fans were getting VERY nervous.

This storm was a once-in-a-lifetime freak (or so everyone hopes!); the general sentiment I've seen on the boards is that Salem did such an incredible job of getting the field ready (and even plowing out some tailgating areas) that support for them hosting has actually gone UP, not down.  Though it was truly a shame than many hundreds of fans (including three busloads from Whitewater) were unable to get there.

So MUC was ahead of Whitewater in the 4th Quarter?....sorry I missed the game... ;)

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Tied 28-28 and MUC had momentum.  Till the fumbles.

Blue, you missed a great game. There was serious hitting going on from both sides.  A couple of fantastic plays too, Roush taking flight for a TD especially.

If anyone is interested you can watch the replay of the Stagg Bowl on espn360:  http://espn.go.com/broadband/espn360/player?gameId=293532745&sportCode=

After the window opens click on "REPLAY" and then click on the game title.

Got that right Bobo....the way Shorts was running loose in the second half, i thought the 'Hawks were dead in the water...especially since they couldn't pick up a first down much in the third quarter. Good thing for some timely turnovers.

Interesting about the D3.com All-American team is that LINFIELD played against 16 people on the lists. They played against all first team specialists.

Do not be surprised when St. Thomas, with their three A-A players returning, is ranked 2nd in the West ahead of LINFIELD next pre-season. Need home field next year again.Got to win the SoCal games by large margins, then the conference games the same. Then hope LaVerne can win a few games for themselves.

I would love to have them show disrepect to next year's Wildcats. This year was magic. I would love to see these guys play with a chip on their shoulder. :-)

GO CATS!!

Looking back....I think that's what we did this year without even knowing it....but now we know we can compete with the big boys....so we have to work even harder.

It was a great game, though I am still cold from slogging through the snow and ice.  I don't think anybody who wasn't in these conditions could really understand how really great Salem did to clear the field and some of the parking lot.  There was 178 - 20 inches of snow with wind.  The stuff was coming down 2" an hour for a while.  Even though they knew I was cheering for UWW, some very nice MUC fans took me and my brownies, etc. down to the stadium.  When it was time for the game, they hadn't plowed out our seats on the first row.  they had put MUC on the East side, though it was UWW's turn to be there so Stone Station sat on the West side. Someone called us to say they had seen our sign during the game.  ESPN came to the tailgate and filmed us and the food, asked me about the brownies thing I do every year.  But I have no idea if any of the footage was used.  The fans that were there for both teams were the hardy kind.  They had the National guard out helping people on I081.  That included Coach Kehres family, I might add.  He told me they got in at 2:00am Sat. morning.  A friend of mind took 6 hours to go 1 1/2 hours it was so bad.  I intend to go home tomorrow.  My brother, Nick (not to be confused with the Town manager, my brother, Rick), says that the roads in Luray were worse than the county roads, which are in SEVERE condition with heavy snow and ice on them.  Doesn't that sounds like fun?  NOT!!!One of the people in the hotel here was driving the wrong way down the interstate and an off-duty state police man rescued him and brought him here.  This kind of weather we are NOT used to having!!  Think positive thoughts for tomorrow as I wend my way to Bridgewater to check on my mitties and then to the land of no computers for the holidays!!  I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!  And

LET'S GO, WILDCATS IN 2010!!  WIN!! WIN!! WIN!!  COME TO SALEM!! BRING ALL MY FRIENDS WITH YOU SO WE CAN PARTY HEARTY!!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!
