Well after seeing Cal Lutheran get whoopped by PLU....I want to take my pre season picks back.  I predicted Whitworth would come in 3rd in the conference and PLU 4th.  Now I see Redlands taking it to Whitworth and I'm not certain but what if the NWC might have some real surprises before the season is over.  The Cats may face two huge challenges or more this season.....WU at Home and PLU at Tacoma....shades of the past with Lute week always being the biggest weak of the season.

CO CATS....time for a rebound!!!

'64, was that a subliminal message for us Lutes?  :)

Speedy,

I just wanted to make certain you were reading the Board closely....I know English 101 at PLU was challenging and I just wanted to make certain to call attention to a subtle message to all those out there in Luteville.  Obviously  it should have read WEEK but you are far to sharp to let that slip by and let the subtle message stand.

Feels like snow is on the way in your hometown!

Game of the week? It would be if Linfield weren't playing. ;)

GO CATS!

Congrats to the NWC yesterday.  Especially to the Lutes and the Pios.  Surprise surprise!

Got to admit that I'm a bit surprised to see Willamette drop two places in the top 25 after beating a ranked NAIA team by 18 ...

I was certain I knew where my loyalties were going to be when I witness the Linfield/Willamette clash on October 2nd.  Today I find out my pharmacist attended Willamette as an undergraduate before doing pharmacy school at the University of Iowa.  I think I'm still sticking with the Wildcats, but my pharmacist is kind of cute.

Cute is nice but I'd be more worried about getting the "wrong" prescription--Stick with Linfield but keep it quiet from that Pharmacist!

Agree, it does not seem consistent with Willamette's rank last week.  I suppose an argument could be made for elevating Trine from 17 to 14 because they are unbeaten against DIII opponents (now 3-0) and won handily over W-River Falls, a WIAC albeit unranked team.  But elevating North Central (Ill.) from 14 to 11 is a real puzzler.   True, they are 2-0 (not even 3-0 like Trine), but only on the basis of wins over apparently really weak teams with losing records (Olivet?  Cornell?).  If anything, Trine should be ranked ahead of N.C.   NC should have been the one to drop a place or two, and Willamette, on the basis of wins against W-SP and SOU, should have kept its previous spot.

The only ranking that matters is #1 at the end of the season...

What will be interesting is if Linfield, which is 16, moves ahead of Willamette next week if the Wildcats beat up on Laverne while the Bearcats have a bye.

Actually, it would be good if the Wildcats move ahead of the Bearcats in the rankings next week so that Willamette can score a big upset on October 2.   ;)

Go Bearcats!

+1,000.  The only ranking I care about is the one that comes out after the Stagg Bowl is played.

Those fortunate enough to be able to travel to LaVerne for this Saturday's game can expect 95 plus at kick off.

Outside the field fence on the north end there are big shade trees that allow some view of the game....and picnicing.       8-)

I've already started doing a rain dance to try to at least bring in some clouds for Saturday.  Even with the sunblocked (and reapplied at half time) I still came home from T.O. with a bit of a burn last week....(and I live down here so I feel for the Oregonians that traveled down).
