Welcome back Honus! I was just wondering where you were a few weeks back. I agree with you. Linfield will win the national title, but I would not be shocked if we ran into the loggers in the playoffs. Logger Resurgence!!!!
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Have we got a clear idea who exactly fatb-brain roots for yet? I remember a vague diatribe in which he claimed to root for any of the recent flavors of the month hoping to dethrone the cats but nothing concrete yet.

Volume: The amount of space occupied by a three-dimensional object or region of space, expressed in cubic units.

Affluent: Plentiful; abundant.

D-train is a respected member of this board and it's not nice to call him fat!

Jbuck64

first off Jack.. not sure you want to pick a semantics argument with an English teacher... just an observation....
Second off,
I'm not the one who said anything about D-train being fat. Volume affluent would be someone who occupies abundant space, you said it Jack not me...

You're appalled at the heinous name?....volume affluent members?

Look Captain Deer-Rifle-Sight-Picture (link) , the only "affluent member" worth reading with any content is d-train!!! You all need to jump on and take a ride because he's the only one worth reading. Before officially throwing some coal in this thread I read ALL posts, and must say, d-train is the understated well camoflauged version of a Freight Train..and he's running the "worth-reading" ball all over the field on you guys.

Hit the weight room buck before you're a trophy in fattie's den.

Just checked in on the WO WOU game its in the 4th with WOU up 28-0.  Looks like it is not a good day for the fly O.  Caught some of the Boise State game. Six fumbles in the first half for Boise, Hawkins is running quite alot of Fly set and getting his butt kicked.  Liked it ::).  Can't wait until next weekend.  When and where will the tailgate be.  And Yes I will be bringing my usual contribution ;D

WOU appears to have a balanced offense.  Two backs ran for almost 100 yards and the QB threw for about 170 yards.  After handing the Beacats their tails they will be gunning for the Cats and especially in front of their home folks.  The Cats will need to bring their A game---remember what happened to the Johnnies last year in game 1 after winning the National Championship.  It was a long season for the Johnnie fans after that game.  Let's hope the Cats come fully prepared for a tough battle!

One Game At A Time!!!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

WOU,

Wow, you were right, I was way off.  Looks like you guy's have a good lookin squad.  Congrats.

BSU sure got humbled.  I felt sorry for Zembransky.  He fell into some quick sand and couldn't get out.

Just got back from the Willamette at Western game.   It went about the way you would expect a d2 team would play a d3 team.

Willamette is undersized up front and got blown off the ball for the most part.  But most disappointing for the Bearcats was their 172 yards of total offense and their inability to execute in the red zone when WOU gift wrapped them a couple of opportunities.   And look who comes to Salem next week.....our good friends from Mary Hardin-Baylor.  I seem to remember they like it physical and like to run the ball that way.

Regarding WOU.....they are clearly better.   Whether they can make up 41 points on the Wildcats is a different matter.   I saw more than a few Wildcat players at the game.....I'm sure they will treat the game like the veteran laden team they are.

I almost feel sorry for the Wolves...now they've got their hopes up, only to come crashing down to earth at home in seven days...

I'm with you Falco, I felt bad for the kid...he absolutely got it handed to him!!

I know the staff at WOU and they are taking the game very seriously and are not cocky about it at all. I've heard all summer that they have a great deal of respect for Linfield and think their talent is awesome. How the players think, I don't know. I do know the coaches understand what happened in last year's game and the talent that Linfield has coming back. They in no way will take this game lightly or think they're great because they beat Willamette. That's just made up stuff from this board.

I still think Linfield wins, but WOU hangs in there better this year.

As for Zabransky, I don't really feel sorry for him. I live in Boise and can tell you that the feeling I got was the program, the fans, and the media here were giving Georiga zero respect. Those throws Zabransky was making were totally a product of arrogance, thinking he could throw into triple-teams like he does against Idaho State or Tulsa and complete them.

Hawkins has a nice program, but I think reality hit them big time. Also, there is not one BSU fan or player who has given Oregon State respect either. All of the ones I've talked to (before the Georgia game) have guaranteed a victory in Corvallis next week.

Yea, the first pick he through on their first play was terrible.  If that dude didn't pick it, the next dude would have...

The Cat's are going to have a game on their hands next Sat.  WOU is big and physical up front on both sides of the ball and they have decent skill players as well.  Talked to an alum that is close to the WOU coaching staff and they plan is to send the kitchen sink at Elliott at the beginning of the game in hopes of spooking him and jump the receivers like UMHB did.  Hope the Cat O-line is ready.

One additional thing I forgot to write about the game last night.  It was an awfully nice touch to see the WOU backup quarterback score on a sneak with :03 left on the clock.  I mean, winning 35-0 means so much more than winning 28-0.

And for those of you in any office pools regarding the number of personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties the Wolves would cover, the number last night was three.  Maybe the discipline is a little better this year.  Of course, it couldn't be much worse than last year.

downtown48

I hope they send the kitchen sink, it worked pretty well for Oxy last year.  They don't have the players that UMHB had.  Bring the house!!

Beancounter, good to hear things haven't changed much down there.  Pretty classy at the gun...take a knee meat!!

WOU,

Should be a good one down at your guy's place this next weekend.  It'll be interesting to see if the Cat's can be as dominating offensively, I hope so.

How improved is your secondary from last year?

Yep, a qb can't win a game by himself, but he sure can lose it all by himself a la Derek Anderson.  For a second there I got flashbacks to the Anderson day's at OSU when watching Zebransky yesterday.

Anderson finished strong but it doesn't even make up for all the games that he gave away all by himself.  Hopefully Zebransky carries it over to next week, but I betcha he comes out strong and plays well, he seems like he's pretty tough.

Moore looked pretty good as far as decision making.  Hopefully they have some tricks up their sleeves with their offensive scheme for this week.  Because I think BSU is potentially pretty dang good on defense.

Unless the Cats are a whole lot better than I even think they are, the score is not going to be anywhere near it was last year.  As for the conduct of the WOU team, lots of screaming, dancing around, three personal fouls and BC mentioned and a red mohawk haircut from #51 inside backer, who I think is the kid who gave the Cat's #2 qb a nice spear to the helmet after he released the ball last year and got thrown from the game.  Now if this is what the team acts like when their winning, be prepared for some major bush league crap on Sat.
