Congrats to Linfield yesterday on the win but the fact still remains that the game should have been played in Southern California yesterday.

I'm not saying Cal Lu would have won but not having to travel makes a huge difference in many ways. The last time a SCIAC team (Oxy) got a home playoff game they won two playoff games before running into the Butcher and that great Linfield team of 2004.

Mt. Clef would have been a fine location yesterday, regardless of the NCAA's stupid rules on hosting requirements. The SCIAC got screwed again and it just sucks for our conference to make any name for itself when it routinely gets no respect.

Good luck to Linfield against St. Thomas next week.
Asking this in all seriousness:  Why do many SCIAC fans think that NCAA does not want games played in SoCal--I've read several times now that the NCAA is biased against the SCIAC due to their location....I just don't see why they would prefer to have games in Oregon vs. L.A.  I would venture that should the SCIAC host and win and another team have to be shipped there it would be cheaper than flying a team to the pacific northwest as I'm guessing there are more options for flying to L.A.  so besides "the rules" and SCIAC fans feelings that they are intentionally being screwed does anybody have any factual basis for this complaint?

MC it is some of the same old thing and I think deep down RFB is happy SCIAC gets shipped out because when they lose it becomes a great exuse ;D

From what I understand STU is a pretty balanced team. They pass and run the ball well and most likely have an outstanding defense. Has anyone seen any film on them this year? It would be interesting to see the type of offense they run and the type of teams they have played. I assume we will be trying to take out their running game and force them to pass like we did to CLU. I'm sure Wildcat11 will have some nuggets for us to ponder......

Also, does anyone know if there will be a video feed for this game in St Paul?

Just found this:

Watched a little of the free video of St. Thomas yesterday.  They are very much the same team as last year (lots of the same guys)---they run a single back offense and statistically are very similar to the Cats.  The score a few less points per game but give up a few less as well.  They gain a bit more on the ground and a bit less via the pass but are pretty balanced.  I think the biggest differences on offense are that they don't seem to spread the ball around as much to their WRs (much like CLU ).  Their Defensive strength looks to be their LBs and they have a solid core of DBs as well.  They are big in both lines.  I think we have to stop the run but we can't ignore their passing game.  I think it will likely come down to turnovers and of course penalties.  St. Thomas stacks up pretty evenly with the Cats on penalties but they have not been turning the ball over nearly as much as their opponents (I think they are +12 on turnovers while the Cats are like +8---but the total number of turnovers is much smaller for St. Thomas).  Should be a good one.  Cats need to bring their A game or they will be in trouble.
Go Cats!

Congrats on the win yesterday, Cats and fans.  Now take care of the Tommies!  :-*

Home sweet home. What a great weekend to be a Cat fan. Great job by everyone on the team and the entire coaching staff. A little tweek here and there and we are in perfect form. Look out Tommies here we come.

As for the Great hit. Football is a fast paste game. Heads move, if it gets in the way of another mans hit so be it. Keep playing the game.

Ok, fair enough, just put it up anonymously on Youtube under ' take that'.

Toms won with what they had last year so if it was not broke they went with it I would venture. Someone from our staff has been pouring over last year's film since we won the auto bid you can bet. Same for them since they saw how the brackets played out.
Same teams, different home field.

How fast can it be played in paste? ;)

11, you are too cool.

I'm really looking forward to Saturday.  Cats will play a team of their same ability.  No turnovers alowed by the Cats.  There should be some new plays in the works.  As always, looking forward to Boehme faking the handoff and running for daylight.

I was off by 1 point vs. Cal Lu.  I'll do my St. Thomas study in the next day or two.

Go CATS Go!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

St Thomas has a huge running back.  I remember him well from the playoff game at CatDome last year.  He was  a load.

He's big.  He's not real fast, nor is he shifty, but he has good vision and hits the hole really well.  He racked up his fair share of yards versus SJU.

Me too...that's what I picked when I filled out my bracket. That should be the game of the week on Saturday.
