As I headed home last Tuesday, my flight route had me take the PDX-->MSP flight, one that I later realized would be the same taken by Linfield only a few days later.

For the sake of the West Coast, good luck Wildcats. (Believe it or not, my teeth are only somewhat clenched ;D)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone else. Time to counteract all that hard work in the gym over the past few months  ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to All. Truly an Original American Holiday but one the World can also Celebrate.

give me a break, there is no way linfields qb and de are not nominated unless there really is a west coast bias.look at the de numbers and find me 1 or 2 better de.the qb runs that show to perfection, but mabye only playing half his games(do to blow out) hurts.

The school can only nominate one player. I don't know which they chose but I certainly could have lived without the two running backs as finalists who are not even having the best year they've ever had in Division III, let alone the best year of anyone in 2010.

+k Thank you.

I do believe there is a negative west coast bias only because those east of the Rockies rarely see west coast teams and players.    And for each west coast team, there are 8 or 10 teams east of the Rockies.   Not a conspiracy theory, though.

George

Actually, for each West Coast team, there are 15.9 teams east of the Rockies. 238 Division III teams, eight in California and seven in the NWC.

Fair representation for the West Coast would be one of every 16 finalists, meaning that the West Coast would not always have one.

And again, we don't know who was nominated. I wish those of us who vote on the Gagliardi Trophy could see that list (this year, it was 26) and have some input.

Sorry, one more thing -- I went back and looked at the info I got from the Gagliardi administrators and see that no West Region quarterbacks or defensive linemen are on the list of 26. (I didn't get names, just region, year and position.)

Happy Turkey Day to one and all.....

Tux Guy,
I'll expect you to lead the Linfield fight song after consuming Thanksgiving dinner at Michelbook.  You should be in rare form and I'm certain there would be good entertainment value to the assemblage as well as probably many folks who would like to join in.  In fact if you and Bluenote could bring your instruments from your days in the Linfield Pep Band that would probably even step up the entertainment value a notch or two.

Whenever our son could not make it home from Linfield for Thanksgiving (due to the playoffs) there was always a Wildcat family that would take him into their home and make sure he had a turkey dinner and was surrounded by friends. As a parent it always made me appreciate the kindness of our extended "Cat Family" I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to those families who are hosting a Linfield student, football player or otherwise, this Thanksgiving Day.  :)
