Plenty of time to discuss this later, but does anyone know if Menlo is coming off the 2011 schedule? I thought the Oaks were going D2, and Southern Oregon is trying to move that direction, too. I put together a sample 2011 Linfield schedule, based on the 2010 version:

Cal Lu
LaVerne
at Willamette
Puget Sound
at Pacific
PLU
at Menlo
at Whitworth
Lewis & Clark

I talked with the Menlo AD before the game with Pacific. He said they play 5 D-III teams in 2011and the Cats are one of them

Thanks, I'm guessing all the opponents are correct, in 2013, George Fox comes aboard. I think College of Idaho is interested in the NWC down the road, it sounds like the Coyotes may restore their program.

Pat,

We enjoyed the audio you provided. Great job as always.
Wish we could have pulled off the win today so we could have hosted next
week and shown our hospitality again.

Thanks again boys, it was a fun ride!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

By those standards, UST's press box definitely qualifies, don't get me wrong. It's just not good enough to handle video streaming. It's tight, but has space for people.

Thanks for the follow-up.  Perhaps if/when they replace it, accommodations can be made for video and brocasts.  Theirs sounds like Kalamazoo College's Press Box from the 1930's.  That is so antiquated, I dare say it is probably worse than St. Thomas'.  It has one of those old iron spiral staircases which you can barely fit through as you ascend/descend (I'm surprised it meets the city/county safety code).  However, that will finally (and thankfully i.e. it's about time ;D) be replaced next year as they are renovating the entire stadium/field (including installing the new style synthetic turf) and adjacent athletic complex fields as well.  Hopefully, St. Thomas will replace their press box in the near future also for improvements for everyone that needs to be in there for games.

I am sure they will. They've done a ton of work at St. Thomas in both athletics and on the campus in general, but the press box hasn't made the cut so far.

D.O.C., sorry for today's loss.  I was hoping to see a Linfield UMHB game somewhere down the line.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Ugh, John Wooden... I'm sorry to let you down today.  I have no idea why this loss is hurting ME so much.  I feel like the crappy video stream added insult to injury.  Everyone on the board seems to be handling this much better than me.

You have a good point about the horrible video stream. It was really frustrating trying to see and hear the action, unlike any other school website. During the last half of the fourth quarter with no audio and scoreboard, it was difficult to find out what was transpiring on the screen. All we knew was that Linfield was driving for the tying score. Whatever issues St. Thomas has with that old press box were compounded by the mistake of using the team camera. The students alluded to the difficulty they were having with that camera, and suggested the holidays played a role in the situation. Hogwash. The broadcasting instructor or whoever was responsible should have planned ahead for this playoff game, the students were busy enough with the announcing.

Just got back from an all day flight to my home down south.  I was only able to sit in Denver and listen and follow the scoreboard for the second quarter.  Next stop in Houston revealed the final outcome.  Other than the postgame writeups and what i see here I didn't get too much.  My heart sinks for the Cats right now.  It sucks to lose in Minnesota and fly all the way back home.

Congrats to the Tommies, good luck with the rest of your season.  Please affect some change to the UWW - MU showdown.

Thanks for an incredibly great year Cats.  Keep your heads high.  The relationships and the locker room chat will stay with you forever.  It had to end either this week or in the next 3.  No matter what, you will reflect and miss those the most regardless of the final outcome to this season.  What you learned on the field will follow you throughout your careers as all of us posters will attest to.

Thanks again for Leaving No Doubt about how proud I am to be a Wildcat for life with or without the streak.

and once again Congrats to the Tommies.

Cats in 2011 baby!!!

Oh, I'm prouder than ever because of what everyone connected to our program pulled off.
I reserve the right to be upset about being so close to going to Alliance finally.

Buy a  plane ticket to Cleveland Ohio ,rent a car to drive to  Alliance and see all the trophies the  Mount Union Kings of d-3 football have on display in a building close to Purple Raiders Stadium.
Then be sure to visit the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in nearby Canton Ohio so you have something to talk about  with  your friends about when you get home.

I too, was looking forward to a possible Linfield-Mount Union contest, Alliance is actually close to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Aside from being a great matchup on the field, a Cats-Raiders game brings something extra to the table. When you look at all levels of college football, it's extremely rare to have two elite programs which have never met. Part of it is geography, especially with the financial concerns present in D3, along with bad timing. Hopefully, these two tradition laden programs will meet in the near future, either at Alliance, McMinnville, or Salem.

Technically, Wisconsin-Whitewater are the current kings of D3 football. You can be assured whenever Linfield makes that trip to Ohio, no one will be interested in bowing down to the Raiders. There are D3 programs with winning traditions west of Ohio, St. Johns is another school which comes to mind. Linfield certainly respects what the Raiders have accomplished, that's what outstanding programs do.
