dc1...why don't you turn off the monitor and go see Don L up river.  I would if I could.

dc1, sorry I missed your question earlier. I was at Catdome South witnessing the massacre. I think we'll get Cal Lutheran if they make it in. If not, I'm still betting on Central. Based on last year's seedings, with Oxy being on the other side of the West Bracket, I don't think they'll bring Oxy up here in the first round. But I could be wrong, who knows what "they" will do. We'll find out tomorrow........

Can somehow please explain to me how Whitworth could have possibly lost to the Bearcats? Oh never mind.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

foss,

thanks, but I still think ww will be in the west.  And they will send Oxy to The Catdome in round one if that will save the $$.  Remember they did in texas before..  ;)

Did you see my little raccoon?  ;D

Foss,

I was wondering about the Whitworth-Willamette thing, too.  The last couple of years, Whit has given Linfield tough games.  (Well, Linfield wins by 2 TDs but it's all relative.)  Then, the Pirates turn around and lose to Willamette.  Then Linfield annhilates the Bearcats.  Maybe the Wildcats are just awesome at stopping the fly?  Oh well, Linfield is the NWC Champ again!  :D

dc1, The one with the Busted Beak had his salty D do some busting of their own today.  ;)

I know what you are saying about the seeding. They've done it in Texas and remember Willamette and Whitworth having to play PLU right away back in the day? I guess I'd say it's 50/50. I was sure they'd have Willamette (or the other west coast team - Occidental) play the 'Cats in the second round last year and they shocked us by not doing it. So maybe I'm putting too much into what the committee did last year in the West and giving them too much credit. Now, if Cal Lutheran gets in and they REALLY want to save money, they'll have them play Oxy (although this would be a conference matchup) and maybe we can get Central then?  :)

wildcatinwi, yeah I just don't know. Maybe Whitworth just hasn't been ready to take the next step. To me at least, they have seemed to be the better team than Willamette. But that's why they play the games, I guess.

That new load of morton Salt did the trick just right.  The fly is dead for another year..   And "Willamette Sucks in all ways for always"  ...  ;D

RIVER - Nice of you to come to your senses.  Was it the first or second quarter when it hit you?  You've got a young team and the future looks bright. You just witnessed a very SPECIAL Wildcat team tonight. :)  You're welcome to come and enjoy the the rest of the ride, of the other cats, starting next week.  You're welcome to join us before the game.

FOSS - Tonight, the cat's claws looked as sharp as I've ever seen them!  Elliott and crew were simply amazing!  Looks like we're fine tuned & ready to make a run for the Stagg Bowl.
??????? As others have posted, where was the team tonight that beat Whitworth?

The second season begins next Saturday!!!  LEAVE NO DOUBT!

Purple flag, GHC, OregonCityCat & all the rest - at the TG, thanks for a great evening.  The hospitality was top notch as always (GHC, Mrs Tuxguy says thanks for the extra hospitality).  See you all next week, bright & early. ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

It was a great night to be a Wildcat! Our boys were awesome! Elliott's passes were a work of art, and Casey Allen didn't even break stride. It was good to see the scoring spread around, too.

Soo and Tom got to be on a first name basis with the Willamette QB. That kid will feel the pain tomorrow. And Ort did a great job!

I think Linfield may have had more fans there than Willamette did.

Congratulations, Linfield, on another conference championship. Now the fun begins.

"Oh yeah, we went there." - Pat Coleman on his latest projections for the South on the front page and one of his best lines ever.

Check it out and you will see why he says that and the ramifications this would have on the West. Oh, and due to some shifting things around, we may be playing a team no one had brought up. No love for a certain west coast team south of our border. This is going to be fun, boys!

foss,

That was a shock to see lakeland?? :o  Pat has been pretty close in the past..But I think he needs some of blue's herbal tea right about now and sleep?   But I can't see them shipping Oxy out?  It's always nice to get some new blood at the catdome.  But , I will miss Central & SJU.  ;D

Time will tell boys.

                      DEFENSE!

Interesting projections by Pat....we'll see what the committee holds in 85 minutes or so....

FWIW....don't get too caught up about "homer" officials.  Game officials are not hired out of the alumni pool of the home team....good grief.  And officials for playoff games are flown in from neutral conference associations.   When Wartburg visited Linfield, we had SoCal officials.  We had officials from Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois for the various playoff games last season.  So enough of complaining about officiating based on stuff on a radio broadcast.    I've made a monday morning phone call to one of our guys in the booth for complaining about a rules issue on the air, so be careful.

The game last night...oh yeah......I thought the defense made the best statement on the first series.  After a long Willamette pass play on the first series that put the Bearcats in Linfield territory, Nik Soo put a lickin' on Cameron Walton that was impressive....a nice legal hit on a pass play that set the tone.

With all the hubbub and hoopla about Elliott and Allen and all, let's not lose focus the great job the defense is doing.  There are some guys nicked up on the d-line who didn't play last night, but the depth of the team stepped up.   A hearty congrats to Coach Joe Smith and the other defensive coaches for a job well done last night.
