WOW! I hope the Beracats do well on home cooking. 7 of 10 games at home. 2 of the 3 away are in Portland.

Yeah, you could have gave me 100 guesses and I never would have came up with Portland State.  I will say that SOU has played Portland State a few times the past few years and played a very respectful game in defeat.  I think Willamette will probably do the same.

Seems like an odd choice for Portland State.

Hey 11,

Enjoying your Linfield clips from the 2010 season, that was a sweet reception at your feet during the LaVerne game.

Any chance the Willamette-PSU game could be closer than expected because of the uniqueness factor of the Bearcat offense? If the Portland State defense plays a spread offense team the previous week from the Big Sky Conference, would there be a small window of opportunity for Williamette early in this matchup?

Checked a Linfield media guide, and saw the Wildcats are 11-3-1 lifetime against Portland State. The two schools last met in 1973, at Portland, and Linfield won 19-3. For Williamette fans, anyone know the last time the Bearcats played PSU?

I don't believe Willamette has ever played PSU before.

ADvantage Catdome: Player Blog: Hayden Mace "With Cancer, everything changes."

Linfield starting Center, Hayden Mace, was gracious enough to write for ADvantage Catdome with his experience in losing his younger sister, Sarah, to Leukemia in 2008 and their involvement with Doernbecher's and the Make-A-Wish foundation.  A tremendous read.

WC11 - Thanks for posting this and Hayden thanks for sharing your experience and your sisters story. My Mother is a breast cancer survivor and I can echo Hayden's point that your life gets turned upside down when a cancer diagnosis is delivered within your family.

I'm really sorry for your loss and could not imagine what your family had to go through. My family is very lucky to have my Mom with us today so everyone make sure to hold your loved ones tight, don't hold back in telling them how you feel about them, and please honor those that have passed on from cancer by living everyday to the fullest.

For one day only, Go Cats!

Excellent post RFB. A very respectful plus k for you.

Well, if you're going to play a game that for all intents and purposes doesn't count for NCAA selection, might as well get some money out of it.

The Statesman-Journal had this to say about the game.

The Southern Oregon score on September 3 may give a hint as to what the Bearcats can expect.

If the WU - PSU story hadn't begun before 4/1/11, it could have been a great April 1 story.

Any media coverage during the game? I checked out the bearcats page, but it wasn't listed. ???
I would watch/listen on the web for this one. It'll be on right after the 'CATS take care of PLU. ;)

Looking ahead to the Bearcats' 2011 schedule, things don't look any easier than 2010.  Hardin-Simmons may have a new coach, but it looks more like reloading than rebuilding as new Coach Burleson has been on the H-S staff for years.

I'll be looking forward to the Cowboys' 9/3 game against Iowa power Coe.

Coaching change shouldn't change much at HSU. I think the biggest loss is Feaster. Hornsby (sp?) is big too since the defense is where they made huge strides the last 2 years or so IMO. But then again, a program with so many kids usually has the next big thing just waiting for a chance.

IIRC, Portland State and the Big Sky Conference have a free online video stream for all their home games at Big Sky TV, and I'd be shocked if Mike and Craig weren't there doing the Willamette broadcast.
