Oxy killing time.

The game against Oxy last year was certainly more exciting than that rout against Rowan. I'm looking forward to seeing Collins and Co. back at the Catdome.

They'll be no question as to how much the 'Cats will deserve the repeat this season if they get it done. If everything pans out, likely three top 12 opponents right away, then (it looks like) the deep South region champ in the semis, and then a trip across the country for the Stagg! I'm with you Coco, we get to see all but the last of these tough teams at the 'Catdome.

Lots of Angst on the SCIAC board. Many are those guys miffed about drawing Linfield in the first round. Can't say I'm thrilled getting Oxy, but as Coach Locey says, you take 'em one at a time. Some Tiger fans are (bravely) predicting they can eek one out in the Catdome. They don't call it the Catdome for nothing. Very tough venue for anyone in D3 to win. Few teams have done it. Sounds like there may be some easy money to be made if you can get a couple Tiger fans to put their wallets where their predictions are.

Well a few hours OXY fans were bemoaning the fact that they had to go play the Cats at home....now LigerLover is predicting OXY will beat the Cats 49-48 and how much better their offense is than last year.  Collins may be a good QB but I kind of wonder whether the Salty D will allow anywhere near 49 points on the board.

Just got back to AZ after seeing the Wildcats dominate the Bearkittens in every fashion. I know that I am a rookie in D3 post, but I want to say my 2 cents regarding last nights game. First, the bearcats were jacked about the game. Everything for them on the line. With the first quarter over and the Wildcats up something like 28-0, it was celebration time in the stands. I found it ironic that the Willamette announcer had the crowd celebrating each first down that the bearkitts achieved. I now see that this was about the only thing the WU fans had to celebrate..."Another Bearcat First Down"... Most of the people around me celebrated "another Wildcat Touchdown" through out the game. The defense was how you have called it...salty. WU game plan was the old saying, 2 steps forward, 5 yards back. The D boys had it going all night long. Brett and Allen are the real thing. The 89 yard TD was the icing on the cake. Glad to see Casey have the record for longest TD. Rain was a nice addition. AZ would have been under 5 foot of water. Zach told me how much he is enjoying being under your son's teaching. Got to sit behind the daughter in law and the kids. Nice heritage you have. Good luck and safe travels to the Northwest for the playoffs. Might be able to see 1 game. Possibly the Dec. 10th game. It would be great to see Linfield finally beat the Johnnies.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes , I have been very blessed..   You were lucky to be behind them. They can get pretty restless at time.  But the candy after each TD Helps.. 
Did you leave some AZ sun shine up north for me?  I will be taking all  the sunshine I can with me tomorrow.  Glad you had a safe trip and I look forward to talking with zach this week. He is doing a good job , the cats are lucky to have him.   Hope to see you at the catdome on the 10th. .

I told you boys the Cats Salty D had a special truck load  of Morton Fly Killing salt on  hand for the Catdome south ..

Like I said halloween was just a couple of weeks ago, maybe LigerLover saw his oxy boys take off their "sixth best team in the country" costume and put on their "best offense in the country" costume.  Neither outfit is nearly as scary as "Beast Allen", "The Butcher", or the Mean Machine who will not be giving up 49 at any point in the next five weeks...phone that in!  

Maybe the NCAA is just trying to do us a favor and replace the other orange and black team we didn't get to play this year...I suspect the results will be similar!

Yesterday I saw Oxy play for the second time this year.  They definitely have some talent on offense, which we saw in the first half in the playoffs last year.  Their defense is suspect though.  Claremont, who isn't very good at all, moved the ball well the entire first half.  Oxy did make some good adjustments at halftime to slow them down in the second half though. 

About Liger, ignore him.  He is rude to everyone and always making big claims about how good Oxy is.  Most of their fans are pretty classy people.  Hopefully some of you can give them a good Catdome welcome on Saturday...that is if anybody travels to Mac for the game.
