I saw the game..I agree it was pretty disgusting...  But..do you really think it would have been the same if the starting QB was able to play?  If you do, then why out of all the teams you will play...is stopping the starting QB at L&C your main objective???  Really???

It's not...you're overreacting.  D O.C. wrote that with tongue firmly planted in cheek and in fact I think he was trying to draw you out for the fun of it.  It worked.

I didn't realize that D.O.C. told you that his post was a joke wrote with his tongue planted firmly in his cheek to try and draw me out..  Who exactly was he trying to draw out.  Seriously, out of every team you play he was trying to draw out a L&C supporter???  Get real! No one said L&C would have beat Linfield with their starting QB.  Butt kicking maybe..maybe not.  With L&C's history recruiting is difficult but things are looking better.  L&C has a good QB who works hard and the team is getting much better.  But to say that his post was a joke and Linfield has no concern about the QB is a joke.  You know it and so does DOC.  Don't live on your last game against L&C.  I just hope if L&C ever has half the success that Linfield has had that they don't become as arrogant as the Linfield supporters.  God forbid your team ever has a losing season.  What would you do???

Welcome to the Board. We have a lot of fun here raggin' on each others' favorite school, etc., but it's 99% good clean fun and not to be gotten overheated about...even when negative things are said about my Linfield Cat's. Now, about DO.C. He takes some getting used to here on the Board, but like me, he's been a Cat Fan for more than 40 years. If you continue to participate on this Board (and we all hope you do), over time you'll get to know, if not appreciate, his quirky sense of humor. Look him up at a tail-gater sometime...he's a very interesting guy.

By the way, I believe that all Cat Fans are secretly (if not publicly) pulling for LC and Pacific to build up quality football programs. For example, DO.C. and I remember many tough-fought quality games over several decades between LC and Linfield. Not all game outcomes were to my liking, but it made for a great league and made both teams tougher and better. Northwest Conference football has never been better and it stems from decades of dedicated efforts to improve by all teams in the league.

So, here's to best wishes for the Pio football team in 2011...except for one certain Saturday! Welcome aboard.

Also, you asked if this Linfield's main objective this season is stopping Welch.  If you couldn't tell that D O.C. was joking then I don't know what to tell you.

Welcome to the board Golc.  Please stick around for the season and a couple after that.  Odds are against you though.  I'd personally love to see L&C improve their program as well as Pacific.  It only makes the Cats better.  See you in the fall I hope.

It's obvious that the posters have no respect for the L&C football players or their supporters. These guys are trying to rebuild a program that was always a sure win for every team in the league for a long time. Things are looking up a little for the guys.  I do find it funny though that you would think that the L&C QB would be on these boards trying to convince you that he's a pretty decent player.  Why would he have to do that???  I'm sure all of you have checked out the NWC and NCAA stats...right???  His name is Welch #7, Freshman, not Welsh....  His teammates believe in him and he believes in them so I wish them luck in the upcoming season and to all of you and your guys.  And my tongue is not planted firmly in my cheek when I say that...

Welcome to the boards GO LC. Always good to have another poster on here. I am a total Linfield Wildcat supporter so whatever I write will be biased in favor of the 'Cats. The great thing about posting on this board is the following: (and I quote from "Do the Tighten Up" by Archie Bell and the Drells) "You can do it, but don't you get too tight." We may talk smack about a program, but we all understand the hard work the players and coaches put into what they do for themselves and the fans.

Some of the posters here are former players and some are parents whose sons have played at Linfield (as in my case). So, while we may respect/disrespect a team we all enjoy D3 football and everything associated with it. Frankly, I don't want any team other than Linfield to do well. However, I have supported and will continue to support individual players on teams other than Linfield's and wish them the best in their college career and beyond.

I only have one question. Why is your handle Go LC?  The LC stands for Linfield College doesn't it?   Just joking!

I went to the Linfield /L&C game last year hoping to see Welch play (along with the Wildcats of course). When he wasn't suited up I was pretty bummed out because he sure had some good stats and L&C has been making progress. I thought it may be somewhat of a game if he played, unfortunately it was another blow-out....hopefully he'll be playing when L&C comes to the CatDome this year and we'll get to see him in action vs. the 'Cats.
