They would definitely bus to DFW. The flights out of Abilene are not big enough to handle an entire football team's traveling party.

I'm about 99% sure that we flew straight into Abilene to play HSU in the 2000 Semifinals.

Sure. But that was a charter flight. The commercial flights out of there aren't big enough to handle 60 extra passengers.

I missed the 1982 page even though I anticipated it coming, but anyone else feeling uplifted before the season because we're rolling through all those NAIA NWC championship years?

Ah, I didn't know they'd fly commercial.

I don't know it for a fact but I'd suspect that's the case. I don't know if there are too many schools that fly charter if it's not on the NCAA's dime.

Interview on the Hardin-Simmons website with the Cowboys' coach Burleson talking about the "beautiful" effort in the win over Coe, the upcoming game with Willamette, and how the trip to play the Bearcats will avoid the distractions of a home game.  Also included are highlight videos of the Coe rout.

A few additional paragraphs about the trip to play the Bearcats.

Just watched a little of last year's Cal Lu (playoff) game.  Can't wait for tomorrow--should be a good one!  Will certainly miss seeing Mr. Boehme in the backfield but am excited to see how Mr. Inns competes.
Go Cats!

...have to go through SFO, arrive at PDX late at night in the middle of a rain storm, hail, etc., take a bus from PDX to Salem...

They'll definitely fly into PDX, as the Salem airport has no commercial service.

The weather forecast for this weekend is for the hottest weekend of the year. Temps in the high 90's and no rain, or hail, etc. But please, keep fostering the belief that it always rains here. That way, fewer people will want to move to Oregon   :D
Texas is in a major drought with record days in the 100's.  The weather is in their favor.

I would agree that the weather favors HSU, but the Bearcats will have been practicing in the heat all week as well. It's not been quite as hot as it will be tomorrow, but close enough.

yes, HSU is flying, boys left at 4 this morning by bus to dfw then take off about nine to head to Portland then about an hour drive to Salem. . . .

The 'Boys should go sightseeing in the Columbia River Gorge for the afternoon before heading for Salem.   ;)

Bruno Honored as NWC Defensive
and Giza as NWC Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week

Props to Bearcats Harmon Bruno and Tyson Giza for their selection.

Yes -- that's great!   We know the defense works!   Now we just need to get the Offense to play like they're supposed to!   Go Bearcats!

Whitworth chartered a flight to Abilene to play HSU a few years ago. Not having to bus from DFW was nice I'm sure and it allowed Whitworth to fly 70 or so family members/fans from Spokane with the team.

Guess the rest of the country isn't as classy as the Rats  ;D

GAME DAY BABY!  4 Quarters of all out effort today CATS!
Go Cats!

Lever Street

Leaving home soon for Catdome.  I can't wait to see the 2011 CATS!  Look for Linfield to run the ball at Cal Lu.

Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

The Hardin-Simmons 2009 opener was the toughest 1st I see for the Wildcats in the DIII era. That worked out quite well.
Today might be a rival to that game.
The defense stuck 'em in 2009 and that will have to happen today as well.
Laudenslayer will enjoy handing off to keep a running game going. LINFIELD has to lick him whenever possible. Don't let him pass. Let's turn this into a slug fest with special teams being the difference = ADvantage Catdome
