Great win for the Cats today!  Plenty of things to work and improve on during the bye week.
Loved seeing them bounce back after having a very poor first quarter. Get some rest and healed up this next week Cats (fingers are crossed on one of the possible injuries).
Looking forward to another great season from the Cats!

Yeah....and then the magic of the coaching staff to find the right attitude to meet a team that APU just greeted 65-14.

And here's the write-up for the Whitworth game. They really rolled PP...but if I'm not mistaken, everyone rolls PP right?

http://www.whitworth.edu/Athletics/Teams/Football/Releases/2011/PP.htm

The 'Rats won at P-P in 2010 35-7, and at home this year 34-7.  P-P had a 1-8 record in 2010 when they also lost to the L&C Pios 63-38.

The 'Rats lost at Redlands in 2010 23-7.  They play the Bulldogs on 9/17 at home after Redlands beat NCC but before Redlands plays Cal Lu at Cal Lu.  The 'Rats may catch the Bulldogs resting on their laurels and/or looking ahead to Cal Lu.

Should be a great game.

Don't think the Wildcats need to worry about the La Verne Leopards (1-8 in 2010) . . . besides, after Cal Lu it should be all downhill for Linfield for the rest of the regular season.  8-)

Seems like that can be the beginning of uphill ::)

Camcat the fake punt pass was Josh Repp the punter

Of course, CalCat. My excitement got ahead of my mind on that one. Thanks for the correction. It was a heck of a gutsy play.

I found that call to be one of the most surprising calls by the Cats in recent memory.  It was a great momentum changer and gave some confidence to the team that up to that point hadn't done too much right. Can anyone think of a similar play call in recent history?  I loved it and wish they would do that more often, or would we then just be compared to PLU?

I remember the fake against UWW in the playoffs two years ago but it did not have the same result or effect.  :-\
Go Cats!

We would be compared to PLU.....of old.

I loved that Ad Rutschman was confident and Riverboat enough to quick kick on 3rd down all the time. It would change / break momentum when necessary.

The frozen UWW fake was a (I can say it all this time later?) missed assignment. The recipient of the snap did not expect it, and to add to frustration, after doing the right thing to the outside, lost footing on the turf making a cut which would have freed him. (All 'CATS would have been happy anyway had he got the first.)

Nice try....but the Cats are never on a downhill slope because we are the team to beat.....everyone is at the very least psyched up to play us till they get beat on the field 8-)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Nice win for you Linfielders ... nothing unexpected from a team that is so consistently disciplined and on point. The main concerns prior to the season (QB and D-Line) really stepped up, and it is pretty obvious that your new QB is a keeper. May not be as good as your past few but he seems smart and makes good decisions. By the end of the season he will be dangerous, it seemed like it only took a few drives for him to find his groove. Not sure how many years Hill has left but he is going to be a big time player as well.

Cal Lu, other than a few drives played sloppy and uninspired... I don't know what it is with the PNW but we consistently get beat up there. Back to the drawing board ... we have to sweep the SCIAC just to find out we will likely be back in Oregon AGAIN... time to make it happen.

Am I an addict if I'm staying up listening to Pacific vs. Menlo?

Yeah, pretty much.  It's a big club, though!

Was doing the same last night. Hoping for Pacific's first win.

Kingsmen4,
You guys kept us nervous and nobody will count you out. We remember last year. Hope your injured players are okay. Good luck the rest of the season.

DenS,
Ad and his quick kicks came to my mind, too. What a football mastermind.

Pat,

I like the new format. Being somewhat techno-challenged, I can't imagine how much work that must be.
Thanks.

I was listening too. And posting on the in game board.  :P

K4, your guys will be OK. Oct. 1 will be a big game though. I may head south for that.
