Your guys made me nervous till the last tick of the clock.

cawcdad,
I don't know about being an addict but following a Pacific/Menlo game does put you in a "different class"...Of course since you just live over the hill from Menlo, that does give you an excuse.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I was rooting for Pacific to get their first win and help me in the pick 'em since I had picked them to win.

Love this from the MIAC board today:

Yesterday's result has been building for years.  There has been discussion among Johnnie football fans since 2003 that expectations for the program haven't matched results of the past.  I totally agree that a sense of complacency has set in, but this happened years ago.  John is a great coach, great man and all Johnnie fans owe him more than can be repaid. However, gradually it seems he has become the focus of the program.  We bask in the glow of what he has accomplished, how he does things, his stories etc.  Each victory is hailed and his total just gets bigger and more amazing.  As we continue to focus this constant attention to John, Whitewater and Linfield have  passed us as the schools to beat in the region and St. Thomas and Bethel have moved ahead of us as well.   Alumni love to relive the past but I wonder what all this means to current players? (See Notre Dame)   Most players today probably  don't  even remember the 2003 championship season.  I also question whether current players can connect with an 85 year old coach, one that sits in the press box during the game.  It's telling that when fingers are pointed at the  program they are often pointed at Jimmy, not John who is the coach of this team.  SJU better think hard about the future because I have a feeling the bleachers set up for the students in the end zone may be a thing of the past in a year or two.

I do not love it.
A unique problem to have.
All they have to do is get to the playoffs and beat us again and they'll be smiling.

My thoughts exactly....er...kind of.  I don't think we've had 60 days of rain in the last 10 years!

Don't know that it was 60 ... but it was last winter (Dec-March), and definetely not consecutive days. Also even when it wasn't raining the mud made the site un-workable.

Thought it never rained in Southern California?   Wasn't there a song bout that? ;)

Too bad for Cal Lu, as it will take a little away from the home field advantage. Hope they bus students over for the game and that the team will be able to practice on the field this week.

It's probably because of Willamette's decent showing with Hardin-Simmons that helps the NWC and moves LINFIELD up to 6th in the d3 poll. Of course I know about those who help themselves. The solutes are still ranked in the top 20 at 0 - 1.

It's really more because Wesley lost, sorry to say.

I suppose most weight with Wesley. They had loss written all over that whole game. Kean kept at it. Too bad I quit watching before the fat lady sang.

I'm not sure what this chatter is all about...everyone knows Linfield is going to win the conference this year, and head straight to the Stagg Bowl! ;)

Man, I miss you guys! Coco, Bluenote -- how've you been?

TGIF -- thank god it's football!!  :D
