I enjoyed the game as always. I remember a few years ago when we were getting beat by Willamette and I was upset... :P But I wouldn't expect a blow out either way these days. I can't say that Willamette will win out though. (I know PSU) because I think PLU, Whitworth and L&C are all very good teams. So I would say that there are some good games still coming up for all teams in the NWC. Good banter though with the Bearcats after a tough game for both teams...makes things fun! :D

si.com's Hot Clicks has THIS running as Sports Video of the Day. So, after checking out the LLOD, page down a bit for the video. Warning: might open old wounds for Linfield fans.
Yeah--already saw it.  Puked.  Am feeling better now.

Sorry, was there a video or something NWC related on that page?  Anything below Ms. Morton didn't have a chance...

Thanks B Press.
I think your boys will do fine from here on out.  Unlike L & C you are not playing a cupcake schedule.

Dee-- Wasssssuppppp !!  Watched that disgusting video AM today.  I was there sitting in the stands with about the same view as the camera shot.  Hang on a second be right back-------- Got sick again ------ :P  Probably the biggest WTF moment I have ever seen.

Can you give us a recap on your boys this year ?

I will be loading up the G5 (Lightning) and heading for the Catdome soon.  Alumni golf tourny on friday, hangin with the boys, may end up at The Deluxe for some find dining.  Then will have to reload Ole Blue for the tailgate action on Sat.  Big weekend, it will be great to see everyone.  As the song goes " The boys are back in town"

Phone it in  GHC

I really don't have any inside knowledge on the Lutes.  Over the past 6-7 years, depth has been an issue.  Really strong senior classes led the team to solid seasons in 2007 and 2010.  But there were more down years in that stretch on the whole.  Rumor is that the past few recruiting years have been pretty darn good, and maybe the depth has improved.  Certainly doesn't appear to be quite as much drop off this year even with all they lost.  Roadie to Spokane will shed some light this weekend.  QB is a senior, but had very few snaps before this year.  I don't care for the new uni's - I thought the gold pants were classy.  I'd predict a decent showing out at Mac, and a strong challenge to the Bearcats for second place.  I don't think L&C will truly challenge Linfield...but they may well beat Whitworth and will present a challenge to Willamette and PLU.

On that note, also addressing GHC, I think we all know that the WU-Linfield game brings out the best and worst emotions of the players and fans. . . . but who's to say what happened.

It was obvious to me that the refs lost control of the game and they did it early.  Take a look, if you have access to the video of the game at CCTV Salem, at the hit the Wildcats' No. 7 laid on the Bearcats No. 1 after his interception of the Linfield pass in the first quarter.  WU #1 (Dominic David) returned to the field from the Linfield sideline and began to cross to the WU side when No. 7 deliberately bashed him.   It should have resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but wasn't called.   I can cite other instances.
That kind of conduct set the tone for the game and it became ugly IMO.

Long drives mean nothing if they don't put points on the board.  Willamette's defense is bend-but-don't-break, and they executed that pretty well.
I agree with the first sentence completely but those long drives were my evidence that Willamette's D did not "shut down" Linfield's offense as BearcatChatter tried to assert.....

"With reference to the narrative of events, far from permitting myself to derive from the first source that came to hand, I did not even trust my own impressions, but it rests partly on what I saw myself, partly on what others saw for me, the accuracy of the report being always tried by the most severe and detailed tests possible.  My conclusions have cost me some labor from the want of coincidence between accounts of the same occurrences by different eyewitnesses, arising sometimes from imperfect memory, sometimes from undue partiality for one side or the other."  --famous ancient historian

Wow! Hank Williams Jr. off of MNF? Who should replace him? GHC? Wildcat11? River? :o
To paraphrase Moe Howard; He was the best singer in the country, just not in the city.  :'(

Saw the interview that got him kicked off---he's a good singer but he don't talk too good ;)

ESPN completely over-reacted to what Hank Williams said. He was making an analogy, nothing more, nothing less. Commenting on the round of golf that Obama and Boehner played together.
Granted, he wasn't making a very good analogy, but still. After 20 years? All ESPN is doing is trying to maintain "political correctness." It was a stupid comment to make, but not worthy of ending a 20 year relationship, IMHO.

On a side-note, the name "Hitler" shouldn't be thrown-around "nilly-willy" - doing so just minimizes his horrific actions during WWII.

I completely agree with you on both counts---that may be the first and only time :)

The following are the thoughts of a guy who wrote his politics thesis on the rise of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei ...

It wasn't just the Hitler aspect of the analogy that got Hank tossed: it was the fact that the second name he used was Netanyahu.  Dropping Hitler's name is one thing ... dropping Hitler in the same sentence as the prime minister of Israel?  Entirely different ballgame.  Now you're not just talking WWII, you're bringing all sorts of Holocaust stuff into the equation.  ESPN can't afford to have people thinking about that kind of thing when they're watching Monday Night Football.

IMO, ESPN made the right call.

All that being said, I'll lay down a piano track for the replacement song.  Who else is in?  Bluenote?  Can we get d-train to represent PLU with some cowbell? ;D

Did you (BCP) or anybody else happen to see the suggested replacement track on the Daily Show the other night--pretty fricken funny!

Just spent the evening getting caught up on all my missed Daily Shows from this week.  Very, very funny.

Was at the grocery store in our new hometown of Laramie, WY, last night standing next to a lady with a Southern Oregon University sweatshirt. I made sure that she noticed the "Linfield Wildcats" on mine.

Scores for today:Wyoming vs. Utah State: Really doesn't matter, but I do hope the Cowboys show well.
Linfield 56 UPS 21- Most of those 21 scored in the 4th quarter. 'Cats have had some unusually difficult games vs. the Loggers in recent years. Homecoming provides just the right incentive to put the game away early.

Now going for a run in the snow.
