From the Lute website:

"The Wildcats are currently on a nine-game winning streak against PLU, which is the longest winning streak in the series."

With the momentum that Linfield has built up so far, it seems unlikely that the Lutes would be much of a problem for the Wildcats.

Does that mean the Lutes will be running some trick plays?

Like attempting a field goal from outside the 5?

I have great respect for the PLU program and team. Always good to see them lose to the 'Cats. Wish them a fabulous 2-loss season!

Going out on a limb here:

Score tied after the 1st quarter. Linfield up 10 at the half. 'Cats hold and score twice more in the 2nd half. Good tough game against a class opponent: Linfield 31- PLU 7.

Forget what Hall and Oates say. I can go with that.  :)
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Good luck joining THAT country club. But now, anybody who is passing through the "The Land of the Missing Date Palms" can drop by for a complimentary tee shot.
GHC would like it if you invested in one of those flat- toed shoes so he can go back to #6 and 'putt' one in.

Naw GHC wouldn't like #6...lake runs down entire right side and embraces the green...he would like the four pound bass we catch after a bad round to make ourselves feel better >:(

Interesting matchup to be sure, and Speckman alluded to the financial incentive for Willamette as well. Portland State seems to be improved over recent years, and they gave TCU a game for about a half. Unlike NWC schools, PSU doesn't see the Fly offense, so I would think Willamette needs to start fast before the Vikings can adjust. Maybe PSU will be overconfident and looking ahead to their next game versus Eastern Washington. I wonder how big the size differential will be on the offensive and defensive lines for this game.

I think Willamette will need to repeat their 5-INT performance of last week to have a chance at winning. PSU is 9-0 when playing teams in lower divisions, but - despite their proximity - this is the first time the teams have ever played. WU is accustomed to playing up one division, but not two. PSU is coming off back-to-back losses and WU is coming off two wins.
Momentum would seem to favor Willamette, but I doubt they can overcome the size and speed advantages PSU will bring to the field.

As Coach Speckman observed, the Vikings are bigger and faster than anybody in the Northwest Conference.  The Bearcats are going to need big plays to stay in the game.
