My plan is to load the old heap up with blue and head to the Catdome Friday morning.  Hook up with my tailgate buddies at either the Moon or Deluxe  :P  ( only the finest for GHC ), for a pre game strategy session.  Then its on to the Wildcat 11 Villa located in a secluded location in Oregons wine country,  for our weekly insider information meeting over a cold one and a double double.

The perfect start to a Championship Catdome weekend.

GHC out !!

Hey GHC,

Sounds like a good plan buddy, 8-)

I am Looking to start north mid-week myself. Sorry but,  i will miss the Moon or Deluxe party.  I have to do some future cat scouting at the  medford/Centenial game on Friday night..  :)
Then it's on to seven feathers for some R&R fun and will arrive at the Catdome just in time to see the cats score one of many on the Pios...  While the Big D smashes  some fresh grape juice.. :-*  the train (special salt load) is due  this week (eta sat a.m. ) on the side tracks at the  catdome.. ;D

QuoteAs far as I'm concerned, it's playoff time... any loss hereafter and the party's over.

I'll second that.

No need to even show at the Catdome, save yourself the massive beatdon that is in store.  We can show you some mercy by just picking a score and Phoning it in !!

Props to Bearcat LB Jaden Rosselli for being named to the D3football.com Team of the Week:

"LB Jaden Rosselli, So., Willamette
Roselli led all players with 13 tackles, five solo, in Willamette's 57-28 win over previously undefeated Lewis and Clark. He intercepted a pass and had a tackle for a 5-yard loss. He returned the interception 34 yards to the L&C 31-yard line in the third quarter to set up a touchdown two plays later."

If Cats are purring:
Linfield 63
L&C 14

If Cats are looking ahead:
Linfield 42
L&C 28
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Lever Street

Cats need some home cooking in a hurry.  Two lackluster performances on the road.

Linfield should handle L&C easily at CatDome, securing at least one home playoff game.  Looking forward to heading out to CatDome this Saturday as well as next Saturday.  Cat Crowd will be into it big time!

Go Linfield
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

My congrats to him as well.  That is a seriously great stat line! Boy, I do love an impressive performance by a linebacker!   ;)

My best to the Cat crowd and especially, GHC.  Still stirring things up, I see! LOL  Hope you are all well.   :-*

Weatherman says 60% chance of rain at Catdome on Saturday......Cat's get slippery and tough to catch when the rain is coming down.  Pios head for their tents to get out of the rain.  No plowing the fields when it's pouring down rain.

The news about Joe Paterno stepping down and the scandal at Penn State University, brings up the question of honor, power, and the pressure to win at one of the elite D1 programs. To say this scandal is a sad, stunning development would be an understatement. It will be some time before we know all the information and legal ramifications, but the damage has been done. I never thought thought I'd see a press release with Paterno saying "in hindsight, I wish I would have done things differently".

A legendary coach, known for "doing the right thing", is not going out the way we all automatically thought he would. All assistant coaches were also thought to possess the same high level of integrity, along with the entire football program and administration. The name Penn State was synonymous with class, honor, and dignity. There's simply no way I would have believed a scandal of this nature would have occurred at Penn State. Absolute power is so dangerous, even for a man with a history of great on and off field accomplishment. And failure to live up to one's ideals can infect a number of people employed by a university. Arrogance can creep in to a very successful program, and we've seen good people look the other way in other scandals over the years.

I bring Penn State up today, because as fans of football programs outside of D1 with a long record integrity this important feature can't ever be taken for granted. It's not just about winning or doing the right things most of the time. Over the years, I've been impressed with the class of programs without the spotlight of the national media, whether it was speaking to a coach, or someone in the administration. In 2007, I had a disappointing experience with Penn State, the lack of class from the administration of football program was the last thing I expected. Communication was a problem, even with the minor issue I was involved with.

One of the troubling aspects of this scandal is how isolated these huge, successful D1 programs are from the rest of the communities in which they reside. Accountability and transparency will always be important, no matter the level of football.
