QuoteTrivia Question:
Was it the Johnnies who made up the phrase "monkeystomp"?  Whoever it was deserves a special award.  I'd like to hear the history behind that.  I bet it's strictly a d3 thing.

Here is the history as I understand it....

QuoteMonkey Stomptm:
Margin of victory of 21 or more
(EngiNegro and redtackle)

Double Monkey Stomptm:
Margin of victory of 42 or more
(sju56321 or ritz72, you guys can fight it out in a cage match to decide)

Stompouttm:
Monkey Stomp while shutting out the opposition
(Kilted Rat)

Monkey Stomp Squaredtm:
RPI and SJU both by a Monkey Stomp on the same day
(57Johnnie and redtackle)

Double Monkey Stomp with Extra Cheesetm:
RPI and SJU both by a Monkey Stomp on the same day, with one team executing a Stomp Out
(EngiNegro)

Stompout Royaletm:
Double Monkey Stompout by RPI and SJU
(Johnnie_esq)

Dyslexic Monkey Stomptm:
Win by 12
(Finsleft)

Gang Monkey Stomp tm:
Half a DIII conference wins their games by a Monkey Stomp
      (Knightstalker)

Double Stompouttm:
Margin of victory of greater than 42 while shutting out the opposition
   (Kilted Rat)
Sometimes referred to as a "Kong Stomp" in certain parts of the country
   (stlarry)

Bench Monkey StompTM
Monkey Stomp is lead by the backup quarterback
   (JT and Knighstalker)

On a side note, I'll be deploying some time around mid May for points to be determined in the Middle East :-\. Depends on where one of if not the strongest Battalion in the Marine Corps is needed. Be back in December hopefully. Unfortunately this means I'll miss most of the baseball season and all of the football regular season. Cheer loudly and drink fondly. I'll be in need of significant quantities of booze and sports when I get back after 7 months of neither!!!

+k all around, catch ya on the flip side!

He still looks, but hasn't posted since.  I'm assuming he finished his residency in San Diego.

While you purple folks can't look ahead, I can ... and I'm certainly hoping that there's a Cats-Welsey matchup on the 26th.

I'd much rather be rehashing Elliotts or that classic '65 NAIA final ... but alas. With Dover not a bad drive away and the Stagg shifting to Friday, I am planning on taking in the tilt for my d3 postseason fix. I've poked the Wesley crew in the past about their adventures in the West, but that's a very solid program.  IF it happens should be a great game.

Airfares will be brutal that weekend. The Wesley guys might have some better ideas but you might want to consider flying into BWI rather than Philly.  It's a little farther (84 vs. 70 miles according to Google), but you avoid I95 and it's a nice drive across the Bay Bridge outside of Annapolis. Plus BWI is a major Southwest hub so there might be a chance to catch a better fare.

Lever Street

Look at the bright side.   We are going to see our 'CATS go up against the finest teams in D3 en route to the Stagg Bowl.  We don't need any more 49-7 victories over creampuffs.  We want to go up against top 10 teams every week.  If we only win by 10 points, oh well.  First up is a tough Cal Lu team.  Linfield will need to play its best, but no doubt they will play great at home.

One game at a time.  Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

Hoping Albion at 6-4 can knock off Whitewater.    :P  Also...STU has a big game vs. St. Scholastica....they are 10 and 0!   :-*

Important notice to all NWC posters.

Our annual tryouts will be tonight at the Catdome track. 8pm.  We will time everyone in the 100 yd dash, with the winner getting the honor of the 3AM fire alarm run at the cal lu motel friday night.  I just got the motel location from my insider information channel. (k4 spilled it )

As we all know Coco won it with ease last year and I know he is training hard again this year.  Dens,Blue,Tux, DC1  lets bring it !!

Interesting for LINFIELD folk perhaps...Veterans Day was Friday last week, it's true. Odis Avritt is a LINFIELD veteran. LINFIELD's Mike Barrow did not come home. A couple of years-old study room in the library was embellished by his friends before the Hall of Fame banquet that followed the Lewis and Clark game.

From the Urban Legend File: The term "monkey stomp" originated after a Linfield alum observed how the burgers were formed into patties at Alf's Ice Cream & Burgers in McMinnville.  ;)
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!
