Umm...did you read my last post or do they not teach reading comprehension on the East Coast?

They were better on Sept. 3. I don't think any of our voters believe they are better today. Most of them haven't at any point since halftime on Oct. 1. Teams change over the course of a season, you know that.

Pat,

1-0 against NCC is all I know. And if the Redlands WR crew shredded their vaunted secondary, what do you think Eric Rogers and the speed of Cal Lu would do to them?

My point is that the West is stacked year after year and they kill each other while the other brackets get easier roads to Salem.

The only time I can remember a road game for Mount was in 1992 when they lost to eventual National Champion Wisconsin-LaCrosse. They might have a few more of those losses if they actually had to experience what travel feels like.
While I'm certainly not thrilled about the bracket this year, I do think the NCAA actually did a decent job of spreading out the talent of the West Bracket.  I mean, heck, if they had kept it more or less by region, you'd have Whitewater, St. Thomas, Linfield, Cal Lu all in one quarter of the bracket--as it is now....the 3 Top 5 teams from the West won't potentially see each other till the Semis and/or Stagg.

From the funny , but doesn't really matter department:
I was watching the video on the wesley football home page. Right after the shot of Kean kicking a field goal their qb completes a pass. In the background is a student trying to hop over the fence surrounding the field, but gets his pants caught and he face plants into the track.  ::)

Outside of the Stagg Bowl which barely counts as a road playoff game due to the neutral site, Mt. Union has not had a road playoff game since 1996. They have only had three road games since 1992 and are 1-2 in those contests.

No constant favors for any team in the playoffs...it should be fair and balanced each year, based on that year only. Each bracket should have an equal number of tough/top teams, it's not rocket science. Look how they are flying teams all over the place in our bracket this year. If you want to worship at MUC's feet for something they've done in years past, that's fine.....I'll root for fairness and what's makes for a fair playoff system, year in and year out.

thats fine :) you have your opinion and I have mine.

I Guess that means that linfield's 57 consecutive winning seasons means nothing ;)

Perhaps to the ncaa Linfield's record doesn't matter. Why else would they fly an undefeated number 5 team across the country to play against a one loss number seven team. That being said, if the cleat was on the other foot I would be overjoyed to see the Wildcats play at home all the time during the playoffs. Play wherever against whomever. GO CATS!

I understand that. By the numbers Linfield should be the home team. Can anyone remember the last time a west coast team had to travel all the way to the east coast??? I know that rowan had to travel all the way out west one year and got thumped. Now let's see how a west coast team does coming to the east coast.

There has also been 3 years where mount would've gone on the road if wabash, del val and st thomas would've won there home playoff game. All 3 of them were 1 win away from hosting the purple raiders in the playoffs.

For 2012 I'd like to see how we can use Josh Yoder's athleticism as more than an every so often "Wildcat" QB.  Maybe as a receiver, running back, somewhere.  He looks to good with the ball to not be on the field more.  I'm not advocating more QB time but definitely on the field.

I'm excited for the Wildcats opportunity to head back to Wesley and play one of the Top 10 D3 programs of the past decade.  It will be a great experience for the team.  We have good upperclass leadership, strong coaches who have been to the playoffs before, and a very talented team in all 3 phases.  We'll be ready to play!

MonroviaCat, your question answered in message box.

Our welcome has been worn out on the SouthEast Independents board. There will now begin a period of not answering any hook, line, or sinker. Probably got advice from the johns.

Very unfortunate. Reminds us all football is just a game.

I said it as sort of a joke during last weeks game but I like Yoder as our short yardage back!
