Our welcome has been worn out on the SouthEast Independents board. There will now begin a period of not answering any hook, line, or sinker. Probably got advice from the johns.

Dang it D.O.C., I believe you're correct with your reflections about Wesley posters. And I wanted to share some whimsical banter:

What does a Wesley fan say when s/he sees a Navy blue and white jockstrap lying on the field? Oh no, another Linfield touchdown.

Why do Wesley posters want to talk "x's" and "o's" with us prior to the game? Because they love Linfield football.

Oh well.

Thanks, Pat.
Setting up the video feed for Linfield/Wesley is just one more reason why "you da man."  ;)

No constant favors for any team in the playoffs...it should be fair and balanced each year, based on that year only. Each bracket should have an equal number of tough/top teams, it's not rocket science. Look how they are flying teams all over the place in our bracket this year. If you want to worship at MUC's feet for something they've done in years past, that's fine.....I'll root for fairness and what's makes for a fair playoff system, year in and year out.

thats fine :) you have your opinion and I have mine.

I Guess that means that linfield's 57 consecutive winning seasons means nothing ;)

It means a lot to us and our team but it should have no bearing on the playoff seeding or bracket placement year in and year out....and it doesn't seem too.

I am intensely jealous of Wildcat11 at this moment. He gets to go to the game.

While I'm certainly not thrilled about the bracket this year, I do think the NCAA actually did a decent job of spreading out the talent of the West Bracket.  I mean, heck, if they had kept it more or less by region, you'd have Whitewater, St. Thomas, Linfield, Cal Lu all in one quarter of the bracket--as it is now....the 3 Top 5 teams from the West won't potentially see each other till the Semis and/or Stagg.

Here's an idea:

Take the top 4 teams and put them in different brackets as #1 seeds. Then take the next 8 top teams (according to d3football.com poll...since they know better than any other poll/body) and divide them 2 each per bracket... with those 2 teams in one side of the bracket, so the top team would supposedly play the winner of those 2 if they made it that far....then sprinkle all the other qualifier teams according to region in the 4 brackets....problem solved.   ;)

Concerning the Linfield-Wesley video feed, a great big boolah Pat.

Can only speak for myself, but Linfielders must continue to support those who advertize on d3football.com. Pat, you have many fine sponsors, but I'm particularly impressed that Eckhart Tolle chooses your media to promote his teachings. Having been chosen by him speaks volumes for your work.

Good job, and again, thank you.

Let's see....how about an early season showcase game with Mount Union and oh, say WESLEY, at a neutral site in Pennsylvania.
Bluenote....I don't know if I really want a video feed to watch us get embarrassed like all the other teams that have gone in to Dover with their fans saying "yeah, but you you haven't played anybody like us yet."

I don't have a horse in this race, but...

UWW fans have been there, done that with these Wesley fans for 6 years. I guess that's one major reason why they don't like us...and our cannon is another...and the wrong shoes is another....the list of excuses is lengthy. Anyway, they were shooting off their collective mouths again last year just like they were doing on here because they finally had us in Dover. Well, you all know what happen. Wesley is IMHO the most overrated D3 football team in the land. I can never understand why they get the accolades they get. I have read on here this week from one of their infamous posters how they turn good teams into cupcakes. Well, get ready gentlemen, I fully expect Linfield to go into Dover and make Wesley look like a gigantic blue creampuff, just like UWW has done 3 times, including last year IN Dover. Remember, after the epic 44-41 game in '05, UWW went home and humiliated Wesley 58-6 in the semi's.  I'm sure that sticks in your memories, right? So when I hear a Wesley fan say, "yeah, but you haven't played anybody like us yet," I simply chuckle and say to myself, "Oh yes we have.  In fact, we've played a lot of teams that were better!!" I'm certain Linfield has, too. Good luck on saturday. I will be watching with interest.  ;)

Thanks for the insight Bo. I certainly remember the '05 game because I was there.  :P

THanks for your comments BoBo.....but pretty much everyone at Linfield knows that that game with UWW was one of the best DIII games of all time....and we would have loved to play Wesley at the Catdome that year!CatDome......
