Lemme kick the dead horse again...last year's St Thomas game was exciting as they come for this fan. A drive to tie on an away field of a higher ranked opponent with 17 seconds left, but lose on a fumble near the end zone in OT.

Not quite The Mishap In the Mud,  but exciting.

Wish I had seen live the 1984 NAIA Title Game at McMinnville High School. With 18 minutes left, defending champ Northwestern(IA) held a 22-0 lead, before Linfield exploded with 33 to take the victory. I believe this comeback might be the largest in 1AA, D2, D3, and NAIA championship game history.

That was unbelievable!    My son was a student there; he kept telling how me exciting and fun Wildcat football was.   It was my first Linfield game and I was instantly hooked!    Been attending ever since.

happy thanksgiving wildcat fans.  you would think the travel and time change would give Wesley a slight advantage, but we are talking about young people who have been known to sleep in late but also have been known to not sleep much at all.  I would figure that athletes good enough to play college football will have little trouble handling the time change.  nice to read that the team will get to have a nice Thanksgiving family style dinner before leaving for dover.  Weather is still looking to be as good as it can be for this time of year, low 60's and sunny.  At least the weather will not play a factor.

ghc, your special teams point may come true.  Wesley uses what I think is the worst punt formation ever invented, that stupid spread line one.  they had 2 punts blocked by Kean and 1 by Hobart.  I am sure that Linfield's special teams coach is licking his chops for a chance to take a shot at that.  Never got it when I first saw it and still dont get it.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you CAT fans.

Safe travels for you young men and families.. Looking forward to a beautiful football day and a good hard fought game!!!

I believe the CATS used that aweful punt formation a few years back (maybe during one of those 6-3 seasons).  I hope Wesley uses it on Saturday--our offense might not even have to take the field! ;)  Seriously though--have a great Thanksgiving Everyone!  Kind of wish the game was on Friday....give us something to do besides avoiding all the Black Friday Madness!
Go Cats!

Tuxguy

Happy Thanksgiving to all in D3 land and beyond.
Safe travels to the Cats Players, Coach's, staff and fans.
Also to the other teams lucky enough to be playing this Saturday
where ever that may be.

GHC,
Feel free to come to the Catdome west annex  ( Tuxguy's House ) and watch the game Saturday.

Go Cats!
One game at a Time!!
Leave no Doubt!!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Quick note that Keith McMillan and I will be calling the videocast of the Linfield/Wesley Second Round NCAA Division III Football Tournament game Saturday, with our pregame show beginning at 11:50am EST.  Look for the links on the schools' athletics sites and on D3football.com Saturday.  Dave McHugh will be producing the video.

I know that people were curious about the coverage, so I wanted to assure everyone that we're on top of it.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.  Frankly for a bunch of young studs like the Cats I don't see the time change being that much of a big deal.  Perhaps for the coaches but not for the kids.  I suspect most on the team have a vivid memory of St. Thomas a year ago and not being able to advance to the next round.  The Cats will come ready to play no matter where the game is being played.  Go Cats....safe travels...injury free....and bring the A Game to Delaware.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on the board.

Be safe if you are traveling.

The good thing about the early game for fans is we still have most of the day to get other stuff done.

Thanks Frank. Can't wait to watch the game. Happy Thanksgiving to the Wildcat family and all the wesley fans.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

GO CATS! GO!

I watched Towson State roar back from 28-zip to tie the '76 Stagg with 32 seconds to play. They moved to D2 a few years later. They lost on a FG with two seconds left. I've seen a number of Staggs, but that was by far the best.

Since I'm not connected to either team Saturday in Dover, I wouldn't mind seeing another barnburner. And despite Wesley's troubles against the West ... or at least UWW ...  in the past, it could very well happen.

Tuxguy

Tick , Tick , Tick, getting closer to Saturday. Looking forward to the feed Frank and Keith...........I was going to try  and hook up my PC to the T.V. Anybody have some Ideas, Is it Possible?

wesleydad, I'm not sure your reading our posts correctly. We have been called many things over the years, but that's what happens when a School puts up 56 and counting winning seasons. Just wanted to say we are a passionate group, who love our team, College and community, and will do just about anything for them.
We're just having some fun, and maybe at times come across a little over......Nah. I for one come here to forget, at least for a short period of time, about other things in the my world. Thank you Pat for that!
By the way, our first string is about ready to play.

Go Cats!

We do have are 5 D starters back from injury that didn't play against Cal Lu last week.  That will make a huge difference this week.

GHC,
Great news.....I thought we were going to have to leave the first team D home.  Hope they are well enough to play a couple of downs at a minimum!  Bring the salt!!!  Now if we can only take the first team O line.....we might be able to keep up with the Wolverines.

Happy Turkey Day to GHC, 11, Tuxguy and the rest of the Cat fans.  I am sure they will take care of business on the east coast!  GO CATS!
