Willamette has hired a new offensive coordinator, Brian Sheppard.  Press release HERE.  Sheppard, who played collegiately at Baker University (Kan.), will also serve as quarterbacks coach.

Not sure what this means for Chuck Pinkerton, QB coach since 2005, but he could potentially return to coaching running backs.  Willamette hasn't had a running backs coach since Tim Speckman moved to Germany.

More importantly, what does it mean for the fly? Maybe I read into it too much but it really sounds like a new look to the O next year... :-\

If the Bearcats use a pro-set offense like the 'Niners, why not do what they do and use an occasional Fly Sweep for a big play.

From the bio of the new coach, the Bearcats may be looking to fill the air with porkers!

I hope the O-linemen like each other. Gone are the days of 3-4 foot splits...

Speaking about new Willamette football coaches, here's catching up with news about a past Willamette football head coach.   Former Willamette QB and football coach Tommy Lee, who retired as head coach at Montana-Western, has a new job as QB and receivers coach at the University of Hawaii under new head coach Norm Chow.

Thanks R&P!  Always appreciate it.  Enjoy putting together the wins much more than the losses but thankfully the program and players supply many more W's than L's.  I'll keep on trying to improve each year out and give you guys what I can.  Go 'Cats!

Interesting article in the Pacific Student Paper about their indoor turf facility and if it's the cause of students potentially getting sick (MRSA).

http://www.pacindex.com/sports/2012/04/05/senior-asks-about-field-house-cleanliness/

I have a friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, who recently contracted a MRSA infection and said she believes she got it from the field house. When staff members in the Stoller Center confronted her about her condition they asked her if she got it from the field house. Being unsure, she told them, "I am not sure where I got it from," because she didn't want to point the finger without being 100 p ercent sure, but told me that is what she suspects.
