O.K. just my 2 cents...... As I understand it, each team gets 2 tapes sent to them. The last 2 games played.

It's three games now, actually. And don't think that potential playoff teams aren't trying to get tapes of all potential opponents before Selection Sunday.

Pat-
Thanks for getting the team capsules up. It further affirms to me how much better the West Region is than the rest of the country. How in the world is the South rated as the #4 region?? The 2004 runners-up should at least account for something.

A bracket is ranked based on its No. 1 seed.

Thanks Pat!

So before Selection Sunday, a team say UW-WW, could call UW- SP and get the game films of the Wildcats vs. UWSP this year, but not after? And I understand the team would have to be willing. Interesting!

Is it the last 3 games played? or any 3 games?
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

LBC heard correctly still up in Covington, Teaching/Coaching... This year has been real tough, working w/ our outstanding freshman program ... this year was their D Coordinator (which meant a lot of homework for an old fat o-lineman) and add to that the first time I've taught a full load of academic classes I've been swamped.

I've been hearing great things about this years cats and every game I've heard seemed like they were headed in the right direction so I figured to leave well enough alone.

In the spring when recruiting info comes out I'll try and give my take on the SPSL kids that come through.

Oh yeah that would be interesting,  Miech (UWSP)  would probably tell Brez (UWW) to get bent...  then again he might hand it over, anything to advance the WIAC

By the way, how in the world did our defense hurt us last year in the finals? The coach and many of the offensive players even said they won the game for us.

They did win the game for us because they stepped up when they had to on that final drive.  What I was referring to was that--as  I recall--they had a hard time getting off the field.  Am I wrong in that?? It's been so long since I looked at the DVD that maybe I wasn't thinking right. That one receiver also ran kinda wild on us all day. that guy from the Minor League baseball team.
{Clever sign-off goes here.}

'Cat Fa Natic,

I'm going to have to disagree with you in a BIG way with your take that our defense hurt us during the Stagg.  I know our offense wanted to perform better in the finals but Linfield's defense came up huge.  You did remember that UMHB was the number 2 scoring offense in the country last year and the Cru was just rushing for tons of yards leading up to that game?

Linfield's defense gave up 21 points all on short porch drives:
-1st TD was 4 play dive that started on the Linfield 14 yard line after a 47 yard punt return
-2nd TD was a 1 play 30 yard pass play that was set up after an interception
-3rd and final TD was an 8 play drive that started on the 39 that was set up after big punt return by UMHB.

The Wildcat defense only gave up 155 yards rushing to a team that put up 300 plus on a number of teams in the playoffs.

The Linfield defense came up HUGE all game long...and any offense player on Linfield would say they save the day.

See previous... Maybe I have my games confused but as I recalled, there were some sustained drives that kept us off the field.  And yes, our defense came up big against a tough team.

Last three games.

And yes, until Selection Sunday, when you find out who you're playing, you obviously can call any coach in the country and try to get a game tape. Whether they are willing is, of course, another matter. :)

LB:  You really need to read my posts more carefully..I said match-up not shut-down.  Great match-ups should lead to a thrilling game.

CC:  Johnnies vs WW is dead even.  Using the common opponent method The J's were dominating EC 35 to 7 late into the third quarter.  EC exploited a first game flaw in our punting and blocked three straight..two in the end zone for scores and one inside the 10 leading to a TD.  So it ended up 35 to 28.  No punts have been blocked since.  total yards..J's 429..EC 242.  EC vs WW...total yards  WW 425, EC 233.  Whitewater wins 28 to 7.    Coaches have Johnnies number 2...D3 has WW # 2.  The Johnnies have been road warriors, winning  6 against some of our best competition so the Road thing is a non-factor...especially on a holiday weekend.  I am guessing abut 1500 faithful will eat turkey and then head SE for the 7 hour jaunt to WW.
One other thing..the TD to win the game at Concordia was no Hail Mary..just a great play..line gives protection..QB buys extra time with a nice scramble allowing Gearman to cross all the way across the field`and break open.  A perfect pass and we get the win.  When that one happened I'm  thinking the stars are aligned for a J - Cat
final.

kenneth,

Anyone know how the Reserved ticket sales for the OXY game are going?  I understand they were to be available to the public yesterday.  According to the Linfield website there will be Reserved seating on boths sides of the field for the OXY game.  Be nice if the Catdome was a sell out with SRO!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

coco

I hope it's a sellout, too. With the weather we're supposed to have this weekend, it won't matter where anyone sits. Even the uncovered stands will be good. The only problem people will have will be getting sun in their eyes. It was 60° here in Mac today!

It should be a great day for football on Saturday, and Locey and Co. will have our boys ready, no doubt about that.

Go 'Cats!
