Any suggestions from Lute fans (or anyone else, really) on good places to eat near Sparks?

I vote for the Weenie Wagon near the gas station. There were only a few flies around it. Another option: There's also a soup kitchen that looked pretty decent in the basement of used shoe store down town.

From the ATN column...at least one point of view that the Bearcats should be ranked #12 nationally:

"October 18, 2012
In Division III, there's a whole lot of special
....
The ATN top 50
Every couple weeks, ATN ranks teams past the top 25, so those of you on the cusp can get an idea of where you stand and what it will take to move up. The collective wisdom of the poll may trump my thoughts alone, but it can't hurt to have a deeper ranking to look at when considering who belongs where.
...
11. North Central.
12. Willamette: No. 1 passing offense in the country at 392 yards per game.
13. Hobart: Second to Mount Union in total defense, allowing 190 yards per game.
...."

I have them #14 in my top 25 poll and have had them in my top 25 since week 1.

BTW...added (509)Rats notes on this week's NWC picks

My Whit pick was censored due to my error in judgement. Comparing UPS to a heavy girl and calling them a "slumpbuster" was neither appropriate nor was it professional...which is why I'm posting it here. A much more appropriate forum  ;)

Right on DC1,
Lightning is loaded with warm clothes and Blue, ready to head south in a couple of hours.  Gotta take care of the boys.  Hope the crew and I don't get shown the gate at Griswald like 2 years ago... Security probably wont recognize us..

Cats in a romp, this one is over at the half. Our run game dominates early.  At least a +30 I see welch tapping out by the half, he doesnt want any part of our d-line.

  Speaking of Juice,

Saw a news release that A Rod and Lance Armstrong are both going to retire and open a Juice bar together.

Bluenote sent me a note asking me to post a report on Wesley, so here it is. The Wolverines (in this game) relied on the big play. They had only one sustained drive and that was the opening drive. I talked with the Wesley QB's parents and they said that was the first time Wesley has scored first this season. The Menlo defense did a good job of holding most of the game. Wesley had 287 yds passing, but 155 were on the three TD passes of 67, 64 and 24 yds. The 67 yarder was a pass to the flat and the reciever did the rest with some nifty moves and good speed. The 64 yarder was a long bomb showing the QB's arm strength and accuracy as he hit the reciever in stride along the sideline. The initial TD was the 24 yarder and the reciever bulled his way across the goal line carrying several defenders. The Wolverines did not show much of a ground game as they gained only 145 yards rushing, 43 of those on a reverse TD. Menlo forced a fumble and two INTS. The Oaks had a chance to close the final score but fumbled the snap on at the one yard line on the final play of the game after a nice one minute drill drive.

Wesley did not seem to be as physical as Linfield or Cal Lutheran. based on my obsevations I think CLU is a better team than the Wolverines. Having seen both teams I think PLU is as good as Wesley, of course that could just be my west coast bias. :) Or did the trip cross country contribute to a so-so game by Wesley?

Photos from the game are here: http://www.pictureprints.net/albums.php?gallery=3940

Great job by the Cats yesterday..  As I posted earlier, The Lewinsky and Clark stud QB tapped out before the half.  Hope he ( and his ego) are OK !!

I will say this, the welcome mat was rolled out for us yesterday.  As we rolled in there was a nice sign, advising us that visitors were to tailgate in the lower lot.  Thats fine,  we gathered, did business etc.  As we got in to the stadium security ( aka endzone guy ) advised us that we could not watch the game from the south endzone, because two years ago Linfield fans used bad language and I guess hurt the delicate feelings of someone  ( that never happened-- I was there )  So we moved to the stands.  Next up was the head of another security department-- She advised us to not yell so much ( we were just cheering for the Cats-no bad language, no player names or numbers--we know the rules) as it was bothering the students working at the food stand in the south endzone...  About 20 min later another guy, the head of security came down and told us that we needed to tone it down or leave.  I guess the fact that there were probably 10 of us in a group, standing and cheering etc, bothered them.  We asked him why others were allowed in the south endzone but not Cat fans--  He would check it out --  I think it was 40 something to zip at that point.. Pretty funny stuff from small minded people..

Phoned it in-- big time boys !!

Great day to be part of the Catdome.

Oh !!  Where is River today-- We all need the breakdown on the top 25 from him--

See you all next week.  Bam
