Back home--great time yesterday---Cats D was on fire all day long--  Offense took a while to get rolling but once the WRs starting catching the ball it was good.  Running game was not as good yesterday--I'm guessing Willamette's D had something to do with that but our guy wasn't hitting the holes with the authority we've seen in previous games.  Too much dancing and/or stopping before he even got to the line....not sure why.

It was great to meet a few more of you but the rain created a situation that made it harder to mingle (at least for my weak SoCal blood).  Thanks to Blue for the warm welcome and the prime seat to watch from!  I'll have to get up to mac again soon (and stay longer).

Glad you had a great time yesterday....and you were missed on the board yesterday.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I know it's Monday, but I needed to collect my thoughts before making a Linfield/WU posting. And wow, did your boys take it to us.

Rain or shine, there's no excuse for the way Willamette played, and that's largely due to excellently coached players with a ton of skill on LC's side. People had been talking all season about how Linfield's injuries were going to level the playing field, but it really didn't make a difference.

My one complaint is to maybe advocate for some coverage for the opponents bleachers. Come on, guys, we live in the PNW with 300 or so days of rain a year  ;)

The biggest battle all day was on the line, the Wildcats took care of business. I've never been a fan of our three down lineman scheme, especially against a team that can block that well. I thought Mickey Inns probably had time to sit down and do his homework on some of those plays. You can't win (or even compete in games like that). And on the other side of the ball, I don't know what you feed those interior DT's up there, but it's working.

It saddens me to have never witnessed a Willamette victory in my four undergrad years, but guess I'll just have to become a regular poster after the fact like the rest of you  ;D. In all sincerity, I've never liked Linfield for the sake of our rivalry, but I have nothing but respect for your program. Best of luck in the playoffs, if nothing else show those east coast pricks how to play football.

While I was driving into the game I was thinking that I haven't seen it rain that hard at a Linfield home game since 2006 (Whitworth).  The 'Cats have had a great string of weather for home games (even during late in the season) for years now.  That luck sure did run out on Saturday.  It was too bad because it obviously kept a number of people away from the game but not everyone is hip on getting soaked to the bones to watch football.

Congrats to the Cats for another NWC Championship!

Foregone conclusion, yes, but they haven't clinched mathematically yet.

I know I jumped the gun a little bit, but I thought by winning on Sat. (WU), the Cats did clinch the NWC Championship.  ::)
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

The most rain I can recall at Maxwell Field was the 2002 game also versus Whitworth. That was the contest in which David Russell set the then single game rushing mark(later eclipsed by Thomas Ford). I do believe Russell still holds the mark for carries in a single game from that contest.

Chatter...the Athletic Department was all set to fund raise for covering on the visiting side but the never-played-a-down-in-my-life alumni stood up and blocked it. "If we can roam the sidelines in just our deer parkas then they at least get to sit."
Good post.

Rumor has it that the cast on the right hand/wrist/arm of a certain running back is coming off today. Suspect this might move the point spread to triple digits...oh wait, we're playing on the UPS field. :o
Kindly disregard this post.  ;D
