Nice win Linfield.  Good luck next week (I guess I should say that in a sarcastic way to Concordia ;D)  Congrats to Brett Eliot.  The last time I saw numbers like that I was USC playing against The Citadel on Playstation.

WC64-
This year the defense just never gave Oxy a chance to stay in the game.  Collins is a great talent, but he can't play defense.  Weird as it is, Elliott, Allen and the rest of the offense are just better than 2004.  Bad news for the rest of the nation.

Foss-Totally agree.........a crappy conference with weak sked just got exposed.

Hey OregonCity,

Nothing got exposed today other than Linfield proving yet again it's at the top of the heap and a better team than Oxy this year.  Take the win and show some class, no need to talk trash about the conference.  One team from each showed up and NWC prevailed, nothing more, nothing less.

go 'cats for the rest of this year . . .

go tigers '06

Lever Street

I just returned from CatDome.  The weather was perfect.  Sunny, 50 degrees, and no wind.  The Cats offense was as good as ever.  Oxy's QB Collins was very good and created problems for the Cats D with his ability to scramble and run the ball.

All in all I think the CATS are a little better than last year.  Looking forward to a few more Saturdays at Maxwell.
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

Foss

OC99 - I meant moreso that it was a tough break that they had to face the #1 team right away. But yes, the schedule couldn't have helped them prepare for something like this (then again, what could have, huh?) You gonna make the trip to Salem again if the 'Cats decide to go cross country?
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss-I have another freebie on Southwest, so I am booking tomorrow.  A couple of days in Washington DC and then down to the party in the Roanoke Valley.

Anyone who thinks Occidental is weak team from a weak league is wrong!     Andy Collins is probably the 2nd best QB in Division III.    And, he is only a junior!

Oxy just ran into a powerhouse team.    My hat is off to Occidental.    You are a very good team.

GO CATS, GO!

GO CATS! GO!

Sounds like Concordia is a plodding running team. That won't work.  :-*

Just looked at the stats from the Cobbers..........72 carries, 8 pass attempts in the mud.  Hope they're ready for some speed on the turf next weekend.

No kidding...I don't know how your boy figures they are a good team...they have Collins, that's it...He got no help all day, the frustration was evident on his face at the half...

Wildcat'64:

First of all, congratulations to the Wildcats on an awesome display.
As for Concordia, I went to Fargo last year. Before the game the Cobber fans were all full of corn and confident they'd thrash the Tigers.

Again, congrats to Linfield, and condolences to Concordia. I would not want to be the Cobbers' defensive coordinator trying to figure out how to stop Brett Elliot.

Thank you Oxy Bob.  We need to have your class to offer the  good wishes you offer when we get beat.  It will happen but hopefully not this year. We have a team of 10 lifetimes and starting next year we will be back to reality and normal. Normal has been pretty good for us, however.

Continued success to Occidental.  Andy Collins is one incredible QB.

Unbelieveable win by Linfield. These are the PLAYOFFS and the 'Cats are rolling great teams. It's rather amazing. This is quite a team and program, simply amazing. Not trying to jump the gun too much, but I really don't see how anyone can beat Linfield this year.

This two-year stretch is the greatest in the history of Northwest small college football.

Next sacrificial lamb: Concordia ... God, I feel for those guys. They're a great team and Linfield is going to make them look average. Amazing.

I've gotta agree with Foss and OC. Oxy was just plain outmanned today. But, the conference is weak and that's been repeatedly proven over the years. Their fans were a bit cranky, too, and not happy with the pelting they took today at the Catdome.

As for the QB, he's outstanding, probably second best in the nation. Put him in purple and white and he could actually go somewhere in the playoffs.

You ARE a kinder, gentler WILDCAT NATION.
