If Redlands played Linfield it would have to be at Redlands in 2014. Linfield fans would know if that opening exist?

First, we need to find out if Redlands has started paying their phone bill.

I don't have a problem with them not scheduling each other, they're considerably the best two teams on the west coast, no need for one of the teams possibly being eliminated by the other. They'll still see each other come playoff time based on how the last couple of years have been.

Well we'll see, but I think CLU might face the two best west coast teams in back-to-back weeks to start the 2013 season.  Even if that's not the case: the danger isn't in elimination that early, it's the odds of an at-large bid that take a major hit if you don't win your conference (pool A).

Yes,

PLU has a very talented team, I was using historical context in my consideration, I think PLU to CLU is like CLU to Linfield. Every game is going to be interesting with the best team winning. As far as at-large bids, there are not to many of those around, so it is basically eliminating oneself. PLU a couple years ago only loss one game and was not invited to the big dance and I think that was the same year Linfield loss to CLU in the season and then beat them in the 1st round.

Still does not compute.  A SCIAC team and a NWC team will make the playoffs.  Neither Linfield nor PLU will determine the SCIAC champ (etc.).

The point that I was trying to make, is that an additional loss (OOC) with one conference loss could possibly eliminate a team from the playoffs due to the at-large factor even though that team may be a Top 32 team. Also, I never said a SCIAC and NWC team will not make the playoffs. So, yes if you win your conference you get that automatic bid.

Gotcha, that all makes sense.  But somehow that's not how your first post on the subject reads to me.  Oh well, it's all good.

Louisiana College, does not sound like an interesting match-up for the Cats IMO.....Redlands would be cool, but I'd like to see us go to the Midwest.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Cats introduce Cleveland to the Catdome.

Except for having to go to Louisiana at a crummy time of year (assuming it would be a two-year deal), it might be an interesting game of Wildcats against Wildcats. They made the playoffs last year and received a few votes in this year's preseason poll. Playing an early game in that type of humidity would be a big change for OUR Wildcats...big home field advantage for THEIR Wildcats.

Such a trip would be especially tough on CatDome fans that live most of the year in AZ and object to high temps accompanied by more than about 7% humidity.  ;D

Not to mention their both LC Wildcats!
Go Cats!

Come on OCP, I've been monitoring all that AZ monsoon activity.
Go on the patio and sit in the rain, feel the humidity rise, and train in case we do go.
Doubt Cleveland will be much better.
