The HSU non-crowd reminds one of the old line about the how "most of the hometown crowd showed up disguised as empty seats." ;D
HSU doesn't have the best fans. There are some die-hard fans, but the students are usually late and frequently fair-weather so the loss to Willamette may have had some impact. I'd also lay some of the blame on the fair, the fact that ACU and McMurry had home games, and that A&M was playing Bama at 2. I know I used a season ticket holders ticket that stayed home to watch Bama.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

ADvantage 'Catdome = 'Cats Win!!! Linfield beats HSU like an oil drum in West Texas
Thanks #11 for all you do!  That picture of the 'boys grandstand was truly sad.

#11:
Glad you worked the oil drum reference into the headline. My wife and I were at the first Wildcat game at HSU back in 2006. The beating of the oil drum was dreadful. I was unable to follow the game on Saturday and when I read the final score I thought it was a typo. I haven't seen Linfield put up points like that since the '04 and '05 seasons. I gave you plus k. Keep 'em rolling!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Thank-you Wildcat11.  I'm guessing I wasn't the only one wondering or trying to bend it to being related to SEATAC, although corporate underwriting would be helpful.

My nephew is a freshman at Skyview High School in Vancouver, WA.  Last Friday night they had a "Mishap in the Mud II"... brought back some painful memories..

I take it no Zach Taylor or Aaron Williams for the Wildcats this year?

JahEazy

Who does Pacific have a realistic chance against this year? I'm hoping everyone but we'll have to wait and see until we actually start playing conference games.

The Whitworth road game is going to be the litmus test for the Boxers.  That game will determine if Pacific is going to be a player in the NWC title race or just a tough out for Willamette, PLU, Linfield.

(509)Rat

at best they're a tier 2 team in 509Rat's NWC tier systemTM....

tier 1 (these guys shouldn't lose to anyone other than each other, although I would have put Willamette up here if HSU didn't turn out to be a terrible football team)
Linfield
PLU

tier 2 (Much better than the bottom half of the league, but don't have quite enough to knock off tier 1)
Whitworth
Willamette
maybe Pacific

tier 3
probably Pacific (I'm guessing that Pacific still loses to the above teams, but they are also much better than LC and UPS so they get their own tier)

tier 4
LC
UPS

and what's this new karma thing?

I don't know about Zack Taylor, but Aaron Williams is reinjured and has decided that squeezing out one more season of football just isn't going to happen.  :(

The targeting example posted by Linfield on YouTube is a pretty outrages hit.  Surprised it hasn't blown up this board....or did I miss something.

Anyhow, it is getting coverage from other sources on the web....for the hit and commentary from other sources, here is a link:

You all are getting soft.  Back in my day that headhunting stuff was SOP for Willamette O-linemen.  They'd notch 4 or 5 of those a game.
