....what has changed from a few years ago? They have a nice stadium and campus. Plus they have a kid from Beaver and one from Mars.

Pat, I really don't think anyone here is throwing stones at Case.

I'm all for a little reasonable trash talk but also all for learning a little bit about the rest of the division, rather than making ill-informed assumptions.

Not sure who would ever pay to watch them play.  Watching the Case Vs. Oberlin game and they scored 2 points against a lousy team was frightening.

??? I'm not knocking anyone's school or athletic program. I just love D3 schools........where kids go to get a good education first.

I have something coming from Case Western that I will proudly display in the 'cat cave with all the other stuff people have sent me. I really don't know much about the colleges but am compiling a 3 ring notebook and copying there Main Page, inserting into a
Vinyl sleeve.

At the end of the football season I have something coming from most all SCIAC teams.

And since we are talking about points....A rebuilding team like Case is definitely going to be hard pressed to not come out on the short end playing Linfield who is probably headed into one of our best years....But of course that's why we get to play the game.

Linfield 52
Case 17
I realize most forecasting tends to be conservative but this assumes that Case will score 15 more points against us than they did against Oberlin.  I'll believe it when I see it. I'm told Case has beaten Oberlin every year for the last 28 or so years until this year.  I rest my case.  We'll all know on Saturday.

... If Willamette wins I would assume they'ed break into the top 25.

Why stop at 25, I can definitely see a top 29...   ;)

The Wildcats appear to be living up to the preseason hype as found in this early September article by Nick Daschel....

I just appreciate the fact that Case was willing to take the game on short notice after Fox left the entire NWC in a tough position (and big additional cost) when they pushed their start to 2014.   I'm looking forward to a new experience.

NW fans, do you think all teams will play 10 games, when GF starts playing football?
Less than two more years of Gavin.

CWRU was also over a scheduling barrel needing games without return due to new conference affiliation.

So thanks to Linfield for making the trip.  And to Puget Sound as well for hosting CWRU.

Hope the Spartans can put up games worth the travel.

The D is young, only two returning starters and one other letterman.  Starting nine sophomores.  Two experienced players were expected to start on DL, but have been missing due to injury.

The O has been inconsistent with two QBs, neither of whom has taken the reins.

Not Linfield.  Finding 3 non-conference games for Linfield is extremely difficult and two is still going to be tough enough.  Linfield will remain at 9.

Cat,

I agree on finding games, from what I hear from the CLU coaches  a couple years ago....is there are only about 60 D3 teams that would seriously contemplate playing each other, then the other 300...in general they tend to shy away from the top 50 to 60...so do to travel issue too (Midwest trips require extra day in town) ...leaves PLU, CLU, UR, LF...playing each other...Still hearing the rumor LF is coming down to UR next season.

I think the SCIAC's mandated 9 game only season also makes it difficult for teams in the NWC as there are just less games to go around.  Obviously the NWC-SCIAC matchups make the most sense geographically and cost-wise.  Otherwise, it's Texas or the Midwest or even longer trips.  That being said, programs like Mary Hardin Baylor have been traveling to the West for matchups and it would sure be nice to see them play the Cats in a home and home some day....Maybe instead of raising money to upgrade the Catdome (as somebody posted the other day), we should create a "Game 10" fund to raise money for a 10 game season!  :)
Go Cats!
